After
the much applauded performances of Bantay Bata Voices and Philippine Concert
King Martin Nievera, ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel (TFC) is bringing in
the number one college booked entertainment group of the year in the U.S. in
2016, Filipino American a capella singing sensation, The Filharmonic, to sing
the U.S. national anthem at the Warriors Filipino Heritage Night presented by
Tanduay Rum on March 25, Sunday, at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.
The Filharmonic --
composed of Southern Californians Jules Cruz (Vocal Bass), Joe Caigoy
(Tenor), Trace Gaynor (Tenor), Niko Del Ray (Beat Boxer) and VJ
Rosales (Tenor) -- showcases pop, R&B and 90’s nostalgia vocal
harmonies that attracted the attention of Hollywood. This resulted in
appearances in NBC’s “The Sing-Off” National Tour, Universal Pictures’ hit
movie, “Pitch Perfect 2”, and several guest performances on CBS’ “The Late Late
Show with James Corden”.
The
youthful and energetic group (except for Niko Del Ray who flew in from Los
Angeles later in the day) and their manager Rose Buado dropped by the
San Francisco Bay Area recently for a show in San Jose and to visit the TFC
office in Daly City, to shop at the TFC store and to guest on TFC’s daily news
show, “BA” and
the weekly magazine talk show, “Adobo Nation”.
Here are captured moments of their visit:
