Last Thursday July 28, I attended an event that will change the traditional way of teaching. We all know that school has their own computer laboratories and equipment but last Thursday its another technology that will further enhance the learning environment of the students as well as the teachers for more effective way of imparting knowledge. Dell announces the 'Connected Classroom' which provides the school for a more advanced that engage the the digital generation differentiate instruction, teach critical 21st century skills and improve students’ learning experience.
The presentation started by the Dell Global B.V. Country Manager Ricky Benipayo Lopez, he illustrated the difference of technology as goes by and great innovations that will give as a chance to grow and be competitive globally.
Then the Head of Education Practice for Dell, Ms Rani Burchmore shared the statistics and studies brought by technology in the societies improvement through the power of their fingertips. She said that putting technology in every hands of the students maintains the connection to a wider world.
Before the demonstration of how this new technology works, they introduces the essential parts and the set-up of such equipment.
Dell Latitude 2120 – the next evolution of Dell’s popular netbook offers several enhancements that support the rapid adoption and use of digital content in the classroom. A high definition anti-glare LED-backlit display (1366x768) and optional Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator make the most of rich new content and on-line assessments. Built with an optional multi-touchscreen interface enabling touch applications to be brought to life, and optional webcam for easy collaboration in your connected classroom. It is scalable with connectivity options like integrated WiMAX support, embedded mobile broadband card and Bluetooth. After which the demonstrations follows as we all listen attentively because we cant imagine that this kind of technology is already here and the Dell Officers also explained that they are collaborating with the Department of Education about this matter. You can do all the things that you want for the students to be more focus and study well. The heart of the system can manipulate anything in the process of learning. You can draw, play music and even record lecture itself for the students who cant attend school for a particular day and can learn simultaneously with the help of the internet.
