It plays the story of the Jellicle cats with human personalities who long to be chosen to journey into the “Heaviside Layer”( Cat Heaven) to be reborn. Just before dawn of Jellicle Ball, Old Deuteronmy is to announce the one to be reborn which happens once a year only.
Some Characters which you should catch out are:
Deuteronmy - the leader of the Jellicles
Rumpus Cat - scattered the pekes and the pollicles with eyes that were like fireballs fearfully blazing
Rum Tum Tugger - curious cat, contrary by nature,who some consider a bore
Macavity - mistery cat, a master criminal sometimes called the hidden paw
Asparagus - a theater cat whose paws now suffer from palsy
Skimbleshanks - the railway cat
Jennyanydots - the gumbie cat
Mistoffelees - the original conjuring cat
Bustopher Jones - the cat about town, fat and know to be the St. James cat
Rumpleteazer - the clown and comedian of the group
and of course
Grizabella - the glamour cat played by no other than our own Ms. Lea Salonga and will have an important role on the day of the Jellicle Ball.
The theatrical phenomenon will be staged at the CCP, Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo.
