DTI, MAYANI PRESENTS 8TH GRAND BAGSAKAN ON JUNE 25

The Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (DTI-BDTP) will hold a Grand Bagsakan on June 25, 2021 together with Mayani and MSMEs from Cagayan Valley, Bataan, and NCR. This Bagsakan event is both online and physical, accommodating pick-up, deliveries, or walk-in purchases.

Mayani.ph will hold pre-orders until June 23, 2021, Wednesday, at 12 noon. On June 25, orders can be picked up at the Department of Trade and Industry Main Parking Lot along Jupiter Street, and the following Malls: Circulo Verde, Estancia at Capitol Commons, Greenhills Mall, and Tiendesitas. On the same day, deliveries will be made for NCR, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal. A flat rate of PHP129 applies to deliveries within NCR, while orders that reach PHP2000 are waived of delivery fees. Paymongo, the official payment partner of Mayani, provides cashless payment support on the Mayani website through credit or debit card payments via Visa and Mastercard, GCash, GrabPay (pay now or pay later), and Bank Deposit.

The partnership of Mayani, DTI-Region 2 and the DTI-BDTP has been promoting and transporting fresh produce and other products directly to more consumers and resellers. Aside from vegetables, Guimaras Mangoes will be sold at PHP199 per kilo. The pre-packed chopsuey basket will be sold at PHP50 each. Products from Iskaparate such as longganisa, mushroom chips, and kesong puti can also be pre-ordered on the website.

MSMEs from Cagayan Valley, Bataan, and NCR will be selling their products at the DTI Main Building Parking Lot. They will be offering various snacks such as different cashew-based pastries, cassava, kamote, and banana chips, peanuts, cookies. Other Filipino favorites such as longganisa, tapa, bangus, and other fresh and dried seafood products will also be available. These products will be available for walk-in or pre-orders. On July 15-16, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and July 17, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the second Bagsakan outside NCR will take place at The Junction at Carmelray Industrial Park along Wisdom Avenue corner Knowledge Avenue, Calamba, Laguna.

The DTI-BDTP is targeting to expand the accessibility of produce and other products that consumers can get at fair prices. Hence, they are also looking at possible collaborations with the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and the Pavilion Mall in Biñan, Laguna.

The Grand Bagsakan aims to provide consumers with fresh fruits and vegetables at low prices, and to support farmers by making their produce accessible in more places in the metro. They also support the DTI’s Buy Local, Go Lokal advocacy campaign. SHOPEE HELPS LOLA HONORATA




Lola Honorata Gahis, a 95-year-old woman from Nueva Ecija, recently went viral for accidentally burning her life savings worth P14,000 as she was cooking rice. Shopee partnered with several brands on Shopee Mall to provide kitchen appliances for Lola Honorata to help her cook her daily meals safely despite losing her savings. Kyowa gave Lola Honorata a rice cooker and electric water pot, Tough Mama provided a gas stove and a box fan, while Tekno Philippines provided her with a table oven and gas stove to ensure she has all her essential cooking tools. Upon receiving these, Lola Honorata and her granddaughter, Sarahlie, expressed their gratitude for the kind gesture.
