This season’s clothing offers a myriad of vibrant colors. The Extra Warm collection meanwhile now offers items with a deep gray color. Other highlights in this collection include long sleeved Ultra Warm pieces (in replacement of the half sleeved Ultra Warm versions) and Turtleneck and crew neck shirts made available in five hues.

DOWN

Down jackets are warm, functional, and stylish, and are continually evolving. UNIQLO introduces its line of Ultra Light Down jackets with witty prints and seasonal designs. New hues for women’s jackets include plum, green, and lemon-yellow.

Hybrid down jackets are a step beyond regular down outerwear and feature enhanced designs and functionality. UNIQLO has added detachable hoods to women’s coats and pinched the waists on down jackets to create a more elegant look. For the men, the new line of parkas enables the wearer to move around easily, and the coats have become lighter, following a detailed design review. Men’s seamless down jackets incorporate a new three-dimensional design that does not restrict arm movements.

UNIQLO’s down recycle program, which started from September 2019, to last until March 2020, has so far collected 620,000 pieces of down outerwear. The collected down will be reused as part of new recycled down products from this season.

CIS BAYAD CENTER FOR "BAYADNIHAN, TULONG-TULONG PARA SA BAYAN"

Inspired by the Filipino bayanihan spirit, CIS Bayad Center, Inc. spearheaded a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative called “BAYADnihan, Tulong-tulong para sa Bayan”, to benefit hundreds of vulnerable individuals and families who continue to experience hardships amid on-going quarantine restrictions in this time of COVID-19.

In photo (L-R) are Pasig City Councilor Mario Concepcion, Bayad Center Marketing Head Wendell Labre, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, and One Meralco Foundation President Jeffrey Tarayao during the “BAYADnihan, Tulong-tulong para sa Bayan” community outreach.

With the said initiative, the simple act of settling bills was turned into an opportunity to help Filipinos in need as a portion of customer payments made at any Bayad Center branch or using the mobile app from March 1 to April 30, 2020 were donated to its CSR partner, One Meralco Foundation. Bayad Center employees also pledged a part of their salaries to further the cause.

Having raised the funds for the donation drive, Bayad Center and One Meralco Foundation coordinated with Cordillera farmers, whose livelihoods were also burdened by the pandemic, to buy their produce and include them in the care packages for distribution. Local government units were also contacted to assist in identifying barangays that need assistance.

To date, the “BAYADnihan, Tulong-tulong para sa Bayan” initiative has reached out to various communities in Quezon City, Manila, Marikina, Pasig, as well as the provinces of Bulacan and Batangas, distributing care packages including vegetables sourced from Cordillera farmers and other essential goods.

According to Bayad Center CEO and President Lawrence Ferrer, “Together with our stakeholders, we will carry on with our efforts to reach out to as many communities as we can. We thank our customers and all our partners, whose concerted efforts show us that in the face of threats and challenges spurred by the COVID-19 crisis, the bayanihan spirit of Filipinos will shine through.”

As the biggest and most trusted multi-channel payment platform in the Philippines, Bayad Center remains committed to servicing the Filipino paying public, and making payments convenient and accessible, especially during this time of crisis.

LG, UNTV AND WISH 107.5 STAND TOGETHER IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID 19

Throughout the entirety of the pandemic, private companies, groups, and institutions have all come together and mobilized in order to respond to the COVID 19 crisis. This constituted of donations, fundraising drivers, and in some cases, actual buildings built dedicated to treating COVID 19 patients.

Breakthrough and Milestones Production International (BMPI), operator of UNTV 37 and WISH 107.5, is one of groups from the private sector that stepped up in providing much needed help to their locale. BMPI conceptualized a COVID 19 facility that acted as an answer to the urgent need in accommodating the rising number of patients that were spilling over from other health institutions.

BMPI’s dedicated COVID 19 facility was unveiled as 3-storey building situated in Malolos, Bulacan, with 35 patient rooms, and 18 quarter rooms for doctors, nurses, and other medical staff, totaling a respectable 53 rooms.

LG Electronics Philippines, remaining committed to the call of raising the comfort of both patients and health workers alike, outfitted the facility with a staggering number of home appliances. LG donated 65 28” LED Monitors, 4 Top Load Washing Machines, 5 Top Mount Refrigerators, and 2 1HP Split-Type Air conditioners which combined amount over to over 1 million Pesos. Each patient room, which will have patients isolating for at least 14 days, will have an LG LED Monitor to keep them company while the heavy duty washing machines, refrigerators, and air-conditioners provide a big help for the staff staying in and taking care of the patients.

LG Managing Director Inkwun Heo shared his thoughts regarding the donation, stating “Even as the country transitions to a General Community Quarantine and restrictions are slowly lessened, Filipinos and health institutions still need all the help they can get. As long as we can lend our assistance, we’re more than happy to oblige”.

PAYMAYA FUELS A SAFE AND REWARDING EXPERIENCE AT PETRON

Digital financial services PayMaya has teamed up with Petron Corporation to provide a safe and contactless payment experience to motorists fueling up at participating Petron stations nationwide.

To pay, motorists can simply scan the PayMaya QR code using their PayMaya app, or use their debit or credit cards as well as other e-Wallet accounts through the One by PayMaya all-in-one point-of-sale (POS) device.

“Offering contactless payment options at our stations is among our top priorities as we embrace the ‘new normal’. We are happy to partner with PayMaya to deliver a safe but also rewarding experience to all our customers nationwide by allowing them to pay using their mobile phones or payment cards. This way, we can further minimize contact between our customers and service station personnel,” said Petron VP for Retail Sales Archie B. Gupalor.

"Along with our various efforts to help the transportation sector go cashless, we are excited to work with Petron and their customers to pay using PayMaya QR or other contactless payment methods. Digital payments ensure that the entire transportation chain–from commuters paying in taxis to motorists fueling up at stations– can have safer and more convenient experience." said Shailesh Baidwan, President of PayMaya.

To encourage motorists to use this safer way to pay, PayMaya is offering rewarding perks as part of its PayMaya Preferred program with Petron. Until September 30, 2020, they can easily get P5 Balik Bayad per liter when they spend a minimum of P300 (P100 starting on August 15) and #ScanToPay using PayMaya QR at a Petron station. They can enjoy this perk and earn up to P500 Balik Bayad per month as long as their PayMaya account is upgraded.

If their PayMaya account is not yet upgraded during the transaction, there's no need to worry because they can still get a one-time Balik Bayad of P30 for a minimum spend of P250 (P100 starting on August 15) --they just have to make sure to upgrade their account after the transaction to receive this perk.

What’s even better is that this offer can be availed on top of the 1%, 10%, or 100% Balik Bayad QR promo capped at P500 Balik Bayad per month. Not only is paying via PayMaya QR safer and more convenient, it’s also definitely more rewarding.

So the next time you need to gas up at Petron, make sure to #ScanToPay with PayMaya QR. To get more details on this promo, visit https://www.paymaya.com/deals/petron. You can also check out paymaya.com/deals for more of PayMaya’s exciting promos.
