The Manila Electric Co. (MERALCO) is the country's largest distribution of electrical power, now brings you the new innovations in POWER TECH. MERALCO's Power Tech features the state-of-the-art facilities that guides Filipinos into more develop professionals globally in terms of power industry.
POWER TECH is a 2-storey, green architecture structure with almost 3,139 square meters, situated at the heart of Meralco Ortigas. The building is powered by solar and wind energy that utilizes natural lighting and proper ventilation. It feature facilities like the following: The Grid Adventure, Endeavor, Pathfinder and Resolution (Training Labs); the Grid Enterprise (Test Area), the Grid Discovery (Innovation Center) and the Grid Inspiration ( Auditorium).
POWER TECH will be the ground for Research and Development (R&D) and technical training with the use of Smart Grid. It will act as a simulator, which can not only have the chance to see them but to actually have an "actual feel" of it. Mostly it will serve as a bridge between existing and the evolving technologies.
POWER TECH objectives are: to serve as facility that will accelerate competency both Meralco engineers and industry players; to provide a test-bed for Smart Grid and testing area for newest equipments and devices; to drive innovation and R&D in the Philippine power industry,through the partnerships with the academe and other power utilities.
