Many Filipinos are experiencing this, specifically the Overseas Filipino Worker. But whatever and whenever they are, the Filipino culture is still intact. Like in the movie presented by The Filipino Channel (TFC) for celebration of its 20th Anniversary.
Edsa Woolworth stars lead by Pokwang, an endearing story of a woman with her family ready to fights against all trials that life can give. An unconditional love and family ties that go beyond the the boundaries of language, race, culture and even blood.
Pokwang or Mamang Pokie is Edsa Woolworth who admitted that she can personally relate to her character because her mother is undergoing illness right now.
"As Edsa, nakaka relate talaga ako sa character ko ngayon kasi ang nanay ko at may sakit ngayon at inaalagaan ko, kahit minsan hindi na sya nakakakilala eh, andun pa din kami tuloy pa din kami sa pag-buhos ng pag-mamahal at alaga sa kanya" Pokwang shared "kagaya ni Edsa sa itinuring nyang father nya walang humpay ang pag-aalaga, ganyan tayong mga pinoy eh" she added.
Pokwang has a love interest in this film named Lee O'Brian, she develop a special bond with the cast while filming but according to my observation at the presscon, the two has a mutual understanding (intregera bwahaha). Look at their photo below they are just the sweetest hehe...
"While filming, they took care of me gently and we really develop a special ties, since and movie namin ay pang pamilya talaga, naging isang matatag na pamilya din talaga kami dito" she divulge.
"Every Filipino should watch this movie, mas mamahalin at yayakapin nyo po ng mahigpit ang mga magulang ninyo after nyong mapanuod ito" Pokwang recommended.
Personally I am one of the movie goers who'll fall in line for this movie, since my family is in the US, I think I can relate and understand this movie more. Hayz.. I will definitely bring more than two handkerchief heheh..
