GREASE in Manila rerun, November 15 to December 7, 2014

Brace yourselves to hear again a great music, beautifully choreographed dance numbers, and colorful 50's costumes, because in celebration of 5th Anniversary of 9 Works Theatrical they will bring back again the GREASE in Manila (last year story HERE), it is our time to turn to fall in love again with the theatrical play that staged for almost 40 years. 9 Works Theatrical stages this updated version with a powerhouse cast such as the actor and TV personalities Guji Lorenzana as Danny Zuko and Tippy Dos Santos  as Sandy Dumbrowski. Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano team up in "Forevermore"

ABS-CBN Kapamilya ‘Prince Charming,’ Enrique Gil, and the ‘leading lady to watch out for,’ Liza Soberano is the newest Kapamilya love team of today, they are now also called "LizQuen". Together they will be in ABS-CBN’s upcoming romantic drama TV series, “Forevermore” directed by the box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina and which will air starting Monday October 27 in our country and for The Filipino Channel (TFC) on October 27 (Tuesday, October 28 Australian Daylight Saving Time [ADT], New Zealand Standard [NZST] and Guam Time).   

“Forevermore” is a tale of a first love that blossomed between two different people living in two different worlds.  Quen will play the role of Alexander “Xander” Grande III, a rebellious and irresponsible unico hijo of a hotel magnate, who will cross paths and eventually fall in love with Liza’s character, Marie “Agnes” Calay, the feisty and hardworking ‘Strawberry Jam Queen’ of La Trinidad, Benguet (Northern Luzon, Philippines).

The first of  The Voice Kids Philippines Grand Champion, Lyca Gairanod has been dominating the scene from TV guestings, TV series, TV programs and malls shows. From May 24-July 27 of this year, Lyca reign the top competition of The Voice Kids Ph under Team Sarah Geronimo, until she was announced as the grand winner. Family and friends of Lyca are very proud of what the little superstar has achieved and now one of the grand prize will be given to her formally, a house and lot from Camella Homes.

The house & lot turnover happen at Tierra Nevada, Camella Homes, General Trias, Cavite. Together with Lyca's dearest family, they accepted the key of their new home and immediately open the door.The smile on their faces are immeasurable. Lyca even roam around the house and even hug the furniture inside.

"Napakasaya po namin ng pamilya ko kasi meron na kaming sariling bahay at may second floor pa kami, magkakasya na kaming lahat dito at may magaganda pa kaming gamit kagaya ng ref at lutuan" Lyca said.

Last year Unilever participated into Global Handwashing Day which aims to improve a better life for every Filipino (story HERE). This year is another year to celebrate the Global Handwashing Day which aims to help Filipinos build a brighter future. 

Unilever celebrated Global Handwashing Day yesterday October 14, 2014 at Mandaluyong Elementary School. This is a company's commitment to teach proper handwashing to 1.5 million children in Metro Manila.

Unilever's Vice President for Corporate Affairs Chito Macapaagal spare heade the celebration and said "Guided by the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan which aims to improve the health and well-being of one billion people globally. Unilever Philippines strengthens its commitment to reduce the incidences of deaths and illnesses caused by diarrhea and respiratory ailments among children via our handwashing program."




Special guest like Jericho Rosales, Bb. Pilipinas Winners and host Dimples Romana lead the handwashing demonstration to the students. A pledge was also done together with the school's officers, local government officials and Unilever executives.

Recently Shell FuelSave Good Choice Driving Challenge was happen and the TV host/Shell FuelSave Celebrity Driver Bianca Gonzalez join and took the challenge. Riding a Ford EcoSport 1.5L Titanium, from Manila to Batangas then back to Manila, using various ways to save fuel efficiency.

Shell FuelSave Good choice Driving Challenge participants also includes press from print, TV, radio and mommy bloggers. They took four challenges that tested their ability to be fuel efficient on the road.

"I am delighted to be part of the Shell FuelSave Good Choice Driving Challenge and show my fellow motorist that every driver can be fuel efficient" said Gonzalez.

DIANA STALDER Face, Body and Skincare's Bloggers SPArty

This is a very good way to end the week because Diana Stalder Face, Body and Skincare Center, gave us (bloggers) some treats, that is a Bloggers SPArty at their branch in Gateway Mall. Diana Stalder Gateway Mall is one of their newest branch this year (story HERE) and we had a chance to try some of their services and taste the healthy and delicious food and beverage serve at DS Cafe.

Diana Stalder has consistently delivered the promise of making each and every Filipino beautiful. Reason why so many clients are with them since they start in 1996. If you were following my blog also, I am sharing my pampering moments, usually from Diana Stalder. I am one of the excited bloggers for the SPArty, because I miss their face services like the Facial Supreme with Casmara.

The Philippines has an estimated P21-billion worth of unused items for sale in OLX Ph

Admit it or not, we all have items in our home that we did not use anymore or unused for almost a year. Be it bags, kitchen utensils, toys, clothes and more, it end up in the deepest and darkest place of the house and most of the time we will found it ruin or not functioning properly anymore. Good thing there are sites for selling our pre-loved items, item that are needed by somebody else and worth money as well.

OLX Philippines, is our country's leading website for buying and selling pre-loved items and helping Filipinos making money and finding things that is needed. Recently they also announces that they have approximately P21-billion worth of unused items for sale on the site. THE JANITOR, a film by Michael Tuviera in theaters now

The Janitor is the official entry of APT Entertainment at the recent Cinemalaya X, starting today October 8, it will also be seen in cinemas nationwide through the initiative of Star Cinema. The action film is written by Aloy Adlawan and directed by Michael Tuviera. 

The film garnered an awards from Cinemalaya like the Best Supporting Actor (Nicco Manolo), Best Director (Directors Showcase) Michael Tuviera, Best Screenplay (Directors Showcase), Best Sound (Directors Showcase) Mike Idioma and Best Editing (Directors Showcase) Tara Illenberger.

I've seen the movie and it really is portraying the reality and true situation of our society today. As direk Michael said in the bloggers conference happen at Star Cinema office early today "It is sad that recently, we had police cases na pinag-uusapan nowadays, but siguro nagkataon lang itong movie tapos may nangyaring ganun sa lipunan natin, but we want to open all the sides of the reality here, not just from the people's perspective, witness, police and the victims as well."

We learn that the director and the actor of the film Dennis Trillo, had a conversation with the real killers or hit-man which in turn made this film more realistic because it is from the mind of these kind of people. On the other hand they also interview ex-policemen or retired generals to note their insights and opinions in a certain situation.

"Yes I told Dennis na may kakausapin ako na mga ganitong tao, at buti nalang sinamahan nya ako, kasi honestly natakot din talaga ako, lalo pa't malaman namin nung pag-punta namin dun eh dalawa pala sila, so two-on-two kami" [Laughs] "hindi pero it turned out to be a very informative conversation and they are really friendly and cooperative."

"Ginawa namin tiong mga pag-susuriingn ito because we wanted to be truthful as possible not just to the subject matter but mostly in terms of the characters, gusto namin very grounded yung mga characters."

"Very thankful talaga kami through Star Cinema, a lot of people can watch the movie."

HEPATOLOGY SOCIETY of the PHILIPPINES leads campaign to BE AWARE

The Hepatology Society of the Philippines (HSP), is the leading professional society of the Philippines which are active and concerned with liver health and liver-related disease, recently they launch a campaign, Be Aware (B-Aware), to raise national awareness on Hepatitis B (Hepa-B) and to promote better understanding about Hepa-B which according to study, affects one in every seven Filipinos.

Hepatitis B is a viral infection that can cause serious diseases. Maricel de Quiroz-Castro from the World Health Organization Office in the Philippines shares that in the Philippines, it is estimated that Hepatitis B affects about 16.7% of adult Filipinos. Filipinos living with the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) can develop chronic liver disease leading to cirrhosis and liver cancer. In the Philippines, Hepatitis B accounts for more than two thirds of all cases of liver cancer – the second leading cancer killer in the country.
Many Filipinos still have the mistaken belief that they Hepa-B can be taken by eating improperly cooked food or sharing utensils. Hepa-B is transmitted through the passing of the virus from mother to child and blood transfusion.

A lot of Filipinos not even aware that they are carriers of the disease. Quite a number of Filipinos only learn that they are infected when they have been diagnosed with liver disease or liver cancer. The campaign aims to Be Aware, by Be-ing Tested, then Be Vaccinated to be able to Be Treated.

“One of the key steps towards leading the country—and region—to lessen the cases of Filipinos with the disease is spreading awareness,” says Dr. Nick Walsh of the World Health Organization, Office of the Western Pacific Region.

“We need to properly make Filipinos aware of the disease if we wish to lower the cases of Hepatitis B in the country,” says Dr. Eternity Labio, President of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines. “As we launch the B-Aware Campaign, we aim to inform and holistically educate Filipinos about the disease so they can gain sufficient knowledge regarding this very common infection, and take action.”

“Having Filipinos aware of the symptoms, the vaccines and treatments available for Hepatitis B only gets the job half-done,” says Dr. Labio. “Beyond the spread of information, more importantly, we want Filipinos to become advocates of our cause.”

Besides changing the negative perception of Filipinos towards people living with Hepa-B Virus, the Hepatology Society of the Philippines aims to make Filipinos spread awareness to their friends and families.

The launch of the campaign of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines saw support from World Health Organization Office of the Western Pacific Region, World Health Organization Office in the Philippines, the Department of Health, and the Yellow Warriors Society of the Philippines. The Hepatology Society of the Philippines invites Filipinos to join them to B-Aware, to lead to a Hepatitis B free Philippines.
