Filipino fans in Spain for Gilas Pilipinas on 2014 FIBA World Cup #MasterGameFace

Remember the contest in which Master, the biggest male face care brand in the Philippines giving men that oil free look will also give tickets and trip to Spain to watch and support our very own Gilas Pilipinas on their basketball match against other countries at the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

Exercise Is Medicine Program

At the recent Philippine Association for the Study of Overweight and Obesity (PASOO) 20th Annual Convention, emphasized that exercise should be integrated or prescribe to prevent and treat a disease.

Exercise is Medicine's (EIM) Program Officer, Dr. Mark Stoutenberg, Ph.D., MSPH discussed "Exercise is Medicine & Cardiovascular Disease Outcome". He presented studies and evaluation proving how people with regular exercise prolonging life and treated disease.

EIM is actively building a framework and raising awareness of the multiple benefits of physical activities since 2007. They are promoting it worldwide and still expanding including in seven regional centers in North America, Latin America, Europe, Sourtheast Asia, China, Africa and Australia.

On its first year in the Philippines, the program is stronger than before and recognizing the importance of exercise to relieve, prevent and treat diseases. 

In cooperation also with leading beverage company in the country, Coca Cola Philippines, selected EIM Philippines' representatives  and sent to EIM Singapore earlier this year, undergo seminars with the objective of organizing training sessions for local healthcare practitioners and physical fitness professionals and help them align their programs with the EIM's vision-mission.

Then last August 28 and 29, 2014 EIM Philippines training sessions has begun and a total of 18 participants which composed of 12 doctors and 6 fitness professionals attended.

In the coming months EIM will be expanding into provinces and not only professionals can join more so the patients as well.

The Voice Of Klarisse De Guzman: Live In Concert

The Voice Philippines' finalist Klarisse De Guzman recently concluded her first solo concert happen at Teatrino, Promenade Greenhills, San Juan City. Klarisse offered great performances from entry songs from her The Voice Ph, amateur contests and more.

The crowd became wild when Klarisse showed her talent in playing drums which she really did a great job. 

She also belted Whitney Houston songs and even voice impersonates some of our local singers. I really can't help but it and shouted woot..woott. while taking videos of her performance hehe..

Klarisse became emotional and cried when she sang "Maghintay Ka Lamang" and would you believe, I cried also and the rest of the audience hayz hehe..

DLSHSI almost complete with all the medical facilities that school and hospital can offer. No wonder they are one of the known schools in medical field.

They offer courses from Doctor of Medicine, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Science in Nursing, Midwifery and Radiologic Technology. They almost have a 100% of passing students every year and the La Salle is always included in the top 10 schools for medicine.

If I would given a chance to study again or take my masteral degree in nursing, I would go for La Salle if they will open a course for it hehehe.. or maybe I am thinking for Doctor of Medicine hehe... maybe I could get that full scholarship that they are offering :). I will be writing more great news about DLSHSI in the coming days because I believe in their advocacy to give free education for the less fortunate people.

My Own SMART Bro Power Duo

Recently, I own one of SMART Bro's Plug-It, the Power Duo. A double in power from Plug-It with a speed up to 7.2mbps, to WiFi Router that can connect up to five gadgets. Another great thing about it is, the router is also comes with a powerbank that has 1800mAh. So, i think it should be called, power trio not duo hehe:).

I immediately used it by following the instructions for connecting via 3G USB Modem. It is easy as 1,2,3, just insert the provided SIM Card at SMART Bro Plug-It, then make sure the Router/Power Bank is switch on "R" mode, then violaaa... the log in will just prompt (or open the browser with 192.168.1.1 the enter) and input the "smartbro" password and surf your heart out.

To continue the testing on my own SMART Bro Power Duo, I connected my other three gadgets, so all in all, it is functioning well on my four gadgets at the same time. I immediately think that I can share it with my friends specially in our travels yeayyy...

Use SMART Bro Power Duo for a consistent, reliable and strong connection anytime and everywhere. The only downfall, I can think about the Power Duo is that, you have to supply the WiFi Router with more power or you should always have to make sure that it is fully charge. "The Angriest Man In Brooklyn" Now Showing

Last week, we all saddened by the news that the award-winning actor, Robin Williams found dead in his house (story HERE). The final findings came out that he took his own life by asphyxiation. I am one of the saddest person that day because, I really like Williams and I grew up watching his great movies.

When I was invited for a press preview of "The Angriest Man In Brooklyn", one of the few movies that Williams made, I took this chance to grab the opportunity. 

The movie also stars Mila Kunis, Peter Dinklage and Melissa Leo.

Some people have bad days. Henry Altman (Williams) has one every day. Always unhappy and angry at the world including everyone in it. Henry sits impatiently at the doctor's office when he is finally seen by Dr. Sharon Gill (Kunis). Sharon who is enduring her own bad day, reveals that Henry was a brain aneurysm. This news makes Henry's angier, yelling and Sharon he demands to know how much time he has left. faced with Henry's anger and insults, Sharon abruptly tells him he has only 90 minutes. Shocked and reeling by the news, Henry storms out of the office leaving Sharon stunned by what she has just done in a lapse of judgement. As Sharon goes on the city - wide search, Henry struggles with his diagnosis, determined to make amends with everyone he has hurt in his life.

I like the movie from story line, exemplary acting and of course Robin Williams. Honestly, I cannot put out of my mind, what if Williams said his dialogues in this movie to someone before he died, the dialogues that touches me and warmth my heart, what if there is someone for him when he needed one? there's a lot of what if's questions that pop out of my mind, reason why I miss the actor more and also the "sayang' words. On the other hand, knowing Williams, the movie always have an injected humor and Kunis equally performs well as well as the rest of the cast.

Orianthi Panagaris is an Australian and Greek descent, her name means flower which truly bloom with great talent. When she learn to play acoustic guitar at the age of six, she fell in love with the instrument and the rest follows.



We know her better for being Michael Jackson's lead guitarist for her ill-fated This Is It concert series. But before that, Ori was discover by Carlos Santana at the age of eleven and became the lead guitarist of Alice Cooper's live band. She appeared  at 2009 Grammy Awards with Carrie Underwood which she considered as the turning point in her career. Now she is writing songs, in fact Ori's biggest song to date is "According To You".

At the recent bloggers conference happen at Star Cinema office, the lead casts of the new movie under Skylight Films and Viva Films "Talk Back And You're Dead". Nadine Lustre, James Reid, Joseph Marco and Yassi Pressman are all excited for their upcoming movie and eager to watch the whole movie as well.

The movie is from the famous Wattpad novel with the same title, you wanna read my previous blog post about the movie HERE, because they also shared so many things about the movie at the grand press conference that Andoy Ranay, the director, author of the book and writer are present.

"Excited na din po kami lahat na mapanuod ng buo and movie at makita ang mga pinaghirapan namin, sana po ma-appreciate nila ang movie namin" Nadine shared.

Nadine and James worked together on their previous movie, "Diary Ng Pangit" but he said that in this movie, it is more mature, away from his character in their previous movie.

"I can say that, in this movie my character is more mature and I somewhat became mature in terms of making movie and into the industry" James divulged.



Equally talented Joseph Marco is Red, like the night with shining armor of Sam (Nadine) in this movie, shares that he can help anyone specially girls that is special to him.

"Ako parang si Red din ako sa totoong buhay, i can help anybody but in terms of friendship kayang kong magparaya para sa isang kaibigan at isang minamahal" Joseph shared.

The Soul Diva (The Voice Philippines) Klarisse De Guzman released her self-titled debut album two months ago and it gained high on demand, the songs are played on the radio and even used in one of ABS-CBN's Teleserye (Mirabella). Now she is preparing for her concert entitled "The Voice of Klarisse De Guzman: Live In Concert" that will be happen on August 29 at Teatrino, Promenade Mall.

December 30 of this year is the date for The Royal Wedding of Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera which will be held at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City. A church where Dingdong was baptized and favorite place of the couple.

"Showbiz is our world and this industry is where our relationship grow, so dapat lang na ibahagi namin ang importanteng balitang ito sa lahat ng tao" Dingdong shared.

"Sa mga nagtatanong po palagi ng kung ikakasal napo ako or engage na ako, ito na po iyon, importante po ang press sa amin kaya ganito po ka importante ang event na ito para sa ating lahat" Marian said.

The Royal Wedding is still in the planning stage even the line-up of sponsors and entourage are on the process. "Wala pa po talaga kaming concrete na list or inimbitahan pa para sa entourage namin, pero may mga iniisip na kami, kahit gown ko po tumitingin pa rin lang kami pero sa shoes may gagamitin napo ako at syempre po ang Maids of Honor are Roxanne Barcelo and Ana Feleo and Best man is Dong's brother " Marian divulge.

MITOY YONTING's debut album "Hanggang Wakas" under MCA Music

The Voice Philippines' first Grand Winner, Mitoy Yonting now has his solo album under MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) titled "Hanggang Wakas". At the recent press conference happen at Resort World Manila, Pasay City, Mitoy shares his talent to the public.

HANGGANG WAKAS album composed of twelve songs including "Paikot-ikot", "Ikaw Hanggang Wakas", "Magulang" feat.Bassilyo, "Handog", "Minahal Kita", "Somewhere" duet with Ms. Lea Salonga, "Kaibigan", "I Will Always Love You", "Solitaire", "Pangakong Tapat", "Hahabol-habol", Air Supply Medley (Every Woman In the World, I Can Wait Forever and Here I Am).

Though Mitoy is in his stardom right now, he shares how it is difficult to achieve his status, he experienced every hardships and trials in life before and there's even a time that he almost give up.

"Meron time na akala mo papunta kana duon, mataas na eh at may nagsasabi pa sa akin na dire-diretsyo na yan and then boom..." Mitoy said "Pere syempre hindi ako nawalan ng pag-asa at madami ding umaasa sa akin at laban lang, kaya nung dumating ang The Voice at madami ang sumuporta sa akin, itinuloy tuloy ko na at ito na'po ako, salamat sa mga nagtiwala at pumilit sa akin sumali nuon hehe" he added.

We all know by know the story of life of Mitoy due The Voice Philippines footage and documentaries but he also shared things about him that no one knows by now, he knows how to cook, loves the actually love it and he cook Criminology. That is interesting right? Mitoy Yonting, The Singing Cook heheh..

To be honest, I am one of the happiest person on Earth when Mitoy won The Voice Ph competition because, I texted for many times and vote for him hehehe... Now that he has his own album, all his songs are included in my phone playlist hehe..

SMART announces 5G wireless technology LTE-Advanced now in the Philippines

SMART Communications Inc., the leading wireless services provider of the Philippines, recently announced that 5G wireless technology LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), now in the Philippines. 

As SMART pioneered the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) two years ago in the country, today the much advanced mobile communication technology will soon to be offer to the network's subscribers and for deployment soon.

Smart switched on LTE-A at the Smart Jump Center in Mandaluyong City, setting the next phase of mobile communication technology beyond 4G LTE standards.

According to the Press Release:

With LTE-A, a 10MB file takes less than a second to download, YouTube videos no longer have to buffer, and video calls are almost lag-free. But beyond speed, LTE-A’s main feature is also its capability to allocate more network resources to users when the need arises.

Smart started testing LTE-A across the country in August last year, delivering results of more than 100Mbps in Makati City, in Boracay, and in Davao City during the Kadayawan festival. 

Ramon Isberto, Public Affairs head for Smart and its parent company the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), said that the recent development is part of the company’s multi-pronged approach in addressing the various needs for internet and data services in the market.

NBCUniversal International Television releases DIVA Telemundo

The NBC Universal International Television launches Telemundo block in Asia. The Asia’s leading entertainment channel for women, DIVA Universal will spiced-up your afternoon starting this month.

Stars of Cruel Love, Carlos Ponce, Ana Lucia Domingues, and Khotan Fernandez

DIVA Telemundo, airs Mondays to Fridays at 4:15 in the afternoon with Aurora, a love story that must overcome lies and deceit, and the sexy romantic comedy Cruel Love (Perro Amor), stars Carlos Ponce, Ana Lucia Domingues, and Khotan Fernandez. The two Miami-produced telenovelas are dubbed in English, airing first and exclusively in Asia, including the Philippines. 

The release of the DIVA Telemundo block is the first of its kind for an English-language general entertainment pay-TV network in the region. This development comes after a year which NBC Universal International Television did in Telemundo Africa – the first Telemundo channel to launch outside the Americas.

Catch Diva Presents Telemundo weekdays at 4:15 pm on Diva Universal Sky Cable Channel 37, Destiny Cable Channel 37, Cignal Channel 65 and Cablelink Channel 32.

Love and Music in THE LAST 5 YEARS

Last Friday, I had a chance to watch one of the most anticipated musicals of all time, Jason Robert Brown’s "The Last 5 Years", which stars  Nikki Gil and Joaquin Pedro Valdes. 

The Last 5 Years is a play about the cycle of love - from the time Cathy (Gil) and Jamie (Valdes) met, started to date, fall in-love, got engaged, got married, and finally broke-up in the end . It is a heartwarming story that an open- minded individual can dwell on and accept, that it is quite normal for a couple to fall out of love.

Under the helmsmanship of Director Robbie Guevara, the play maintains its emotional appeal from beginning to end. 

Nikki Gil delivers a stirring performance, especially when she sings "Still Hurting". I really felt how painful it was for her to lose someone she really loves. More so, the song "I Can Do Better Than That" gives me a feeling of empowerment, a hidden strength that a woman could draw from, in times of hurting and insecurities.

On the other hand, Joaquin Valdes gives an equally impressive performance onstage. He exudes a very manly Jamie and his vocal prowess is remarkable. He had me at "The Schmuel Song', even if I knew that at that  moment, Cathy has given up on his character Jamie. I didn't like the scene wherein he sings "Nobody Needs To Know" though, because I felt cheated as well, hehehe..

As you can see, I really appreciated the songs that the lead characters perfectly rendered in this wonderful musical. It comes as no surprise to me that it won the Drama Desk Award for outstanding music and lyrics way back 2002. The songs truly expressed what it means to love and be loved; the pain and sadness that one feels in a relationship that has gone bad. The contrasting joy and melancholy of this contemporary musical masterpiece was greatly enhanced by the awesome artistry of 9 Works Theatrical's 9PO, a Philharmonic pit and pop orchestra.

Actor Robin Williams Found Dead In His Home

The award-winning actor Robin Williams found dead in his home at California after a police reported that he is found unconscious then 12:02 PM August 11 he is officially pronounced dead.

At 63, Williams did not exist in social media, until today. His publicist also shared that Williams had been battling depression, he's into alcohol and drug for decades and even spent time in rehabilitation.

Robin Williams is one of my favorite actors from the films "Dead Poet Society", Mrs. Doubtfire, to "Good Will Hunting" and more which exudes astounding performance and also touched my heart. So when I heard the news, I was very sad. 

I can't still imagine an actor so famous, so rich, so great is found battling severe depression and took his own life hayz.

Let us all pray for his soul. Thank you for the inspiring and great films. Rest In Peace Robin Williams.

Richard Poon and Gretchen Ho for Cardam's Shoes

At the recent United Fashion Show 2014 by Nat Manilag happen at Robinson's Manila, the designer brand of shoes like Liberte, Mario D' Boro and Cardam's dominated the stage as the models wear the latest designs of each shoe brands. Together with the brand endorsers of each brand, like Kim Rodriguez and Aaron Villaflor for Mario D' Boro and Richard Poon and Gretchen Ho for Cardam's. The fashion show that featured rainy, formal and holiday design line.

Richard Poon and Gretchen Ho, dominated the ramp with their Cardam's formal design shoes. The Philippines' Crooner/Songwriter Richard Poon admitted that he wears Cardam's shoes in every aspect of his life from casual to formal events, he wears them comfortably and he also shared how durable it is compared to other expensive shoe brands he tried.

On the other hand, the 2014 Hotlete Awardee of the recent Yahoo Celebrity Awards, Gretchen Ho expands her horizon from being a volleyball player to a known TV/events host of today. She's now a woman with glamour and a head turner not only in the court but in any celebrations.

"Talk Back And You're Dead", the movie showing on August 20

"Talk Back And You're Dead" is a movie adaptation of the famous Wattpad novel by Alesana Marie (PSICOM Publishing Inc.) with the same title. The movie is under two big productions of the country Skylight Films, Viva Films and it is distributed by Star Cinema. 

Star by the sought teen actors and actress of today, James Reid, Joseph Marco and of course Nadine Lustre. This is the second big screen appearance of JaDine tandem (James & Nadine) after the movie Diary Ng Pangit which is a big hit also. 

Talk Back And You're Dead is a love story, love triangle with an infuse of action and danger, between the characters of Top (James), Sam (Nadine) and Red (Joseph). The film kicks the "good girl meets bad boy" story that remains faithful to the elements of the novel. The readers of the novel should definitely look forward to witness their favorite characters come to life with live-action, narrative witty lines, of course the romantic 'kilig' scenes and it will not be completed without the Crazy Trios and The Lucky 13 right?.

At the recent grand press conference happen at ELJ Building, ABS-CBN Compound, the lead casts said that this is more mature than their characters at the previous movie.

"Excited po talaga kami na makita nila yung movie because we are more matured here in terms of acting and there's so many romantic scenes to be look forward to, masasabi ko po na madami kaming kissing scenes dito" [laughs] "But James as usual is so gentleman and we are comfortable napo kami sa isa't-isa sa mga eksena." Nadine shared.

James Reid on the same manner said that this movie makes him more versatile in terms of acting and willing to do anything as long as it will help the film more better and have quality.

"I am very thankful that Skylight Films and Viva Film took a chance and trust on me for this movie, that's why I poured everything that I got in order to compensate that trust and hopefully people will appreciate it." James divulge.

Joseph Marco as Red shared that he had difficulty on the color of his hair of camera "Ang nahirapan ako is yung sa hair ko, lalo na if I want to rest, kasi syempre hindi pwede humiga kasi hahawa yung color ng hair ko hehe, aside from that okay naman po lahat at hindi naman po kami pinababayaan ng director na'min."

Showing on August 20, 2014 "Talk Back And You're Dead" is directed by Andoy Ranay and screenplay by Kieko Aquino. To complete the casts, the movie also includes Yassi Pressman, Candy Pangalinan, Via Carillo, Bobby Andrews, Christopher Roxas, Jana Victoria, Crazy Trios ( Coraleen Waddell, Donnalyn Bartolome, Vega Rosalie Van Ginkel and Lucky 13 (Bret Jackson, Arkin Del Rosario, Josh Padilla, Carlo Lazerna, Kiko Ramos, King Certeza, Aki Torio, Cliff Hogan, Billy Villeta, Ryan Kevin and Clark Merced.
