The corporate citizenship of Philam Life insure, Philam Foundation, recently turned over 40 new and equip classrooms to Department of Education (DepEd). These classrooms will benefit almost 2,000 students who are affected by Typhoon Haiyan and earthquake.
Three of "Philam Paaralan" are given and standing at Taguig National High School in Taguig City. The turn over was attended by DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, Executive Director of Philam Foundation Max G. Ventura, Interim CEO of Philam Life Estelito G. Madrid, Taguig Nat'l HS's principal and the rest of the faculty and students.
"We have built Philam Paaralan classrooms in Taguig after transferring our corporate offices here. As a new resident of the city, we are glad to contribute providing decent schools facilities to the youth of Taguig" Mr. Ventura said.
Mr. Ventura also shared that they only have to finished 29 classrooms in the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, Tacloban, Leyte and Samar. It will be finished by the end of first quarter of school year 2014-2015. On the other hand eight classrooms in Negros Occidental, Capiz, Roxas City, Iloilo, Aklan and Roxas before the year ends.
"We are very happy in the government that there are private institution that have a vision the same way we have, prioritizing the education and helping specially to those who are affected by natural calamities" Bro. Luistro shared.
