2013 Sun Broadband Quest Grand Winner IKTUS Band Release Self-titled Album

July of last year, I've shared with you the final performance of 2013 Sun Broadband Quest Finalist (HERE) happen at Music Museum, Greenhills San Juan City.Ten bands compete that night and only one immerse as the grand winner and that is, the four-piece rock band IKTUS (Greek work meaning "fish"). Comprised of  Augusto Mendoza (guitarist) and siblings CJ (vocalist), twins - Andrei (bassist) and Andrew (drummer) Panaligan.

From there, they had shows nationwide and received recognition in other music competition including UP Fair Battle of the Bands, UP Rockbakan and more. 

Recently they release their debut EP that is composed of 8 tracks, featuring the carrier single "IMY". IMY is an original composition of the band, written by the bassist Andrei Panaligan.

To complete the tracks on the EP are "Hiling", "Mahal Kita (ILY)", "Eto", "Wag Na", "Paalam", and "Alaala" and the acoustic version of "IMY".

"Our song are all original and it offers all emotions about love, hope and positivity, we want people to know how important it is to achieve happiness in this world despite problems and troubles" Andrei said, imaging the identity of a true Christian band.

the biggest music platform SPOTIFY arrived in the Philippines

As blogger, I like to write a blog post while listening to music specially at midnight when everybody is asleep. From rock, pop, alternative or any other music genre, name it, I appreciate it. But in a fast pace of music industry, newest and latest music are arriving every week and it almost maximized the capacity of my laptop/desktop memory.

Glad to hear that the leading online music streaming service, SPOTIFY arrived in the Philippines. Coca-Cola has partnered with Spotify to give us access for free. I am one of the people who owned an account to Coca-Cola/Spotify and let me share with you what's on it.

By visiting https://www.spotify.com/ph/signup, I signed up and provide the code that Coca-Cola given to me, then I easily downloaded Spotify on my desktop. Not more than ten minutes, the Spotify page pop-up and navigate me to the world of music like never before.

Spotify is so easy to use you can browse music according to your references, be it by album, artist and track. From the MAIN file located at the upper left corner, "Discover" shows you the list of trending tracks and suggested albums, "Follow" shows you singers, friends and people to follow, "Messages" shows your connection with other users, "Play Queue" currently list of songs you playing and mostly or let me say my most favorite feature is the "Devices" that allows you to take your music everywhere, just sync your device to Spotify and enjoy.

The fun and exciting thing about Spotify is, you can share or inform your friends on your social networking sites the music you are currently enjoying like on Facebook, Twitter and Tumbler. You could also exchange playlist to other Spotify users and find friends, follow them as well as your favorite artists and singers.

I am really enjoying this experience, yes I am listening to the music of my favorite artist's album while writing this article. Now I have a new found body not only while writing but mostly it is a perfect match on my breaktime hehe.. 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition finale

Last Saturday March 22, I am one of the bloggers who were invited to cover the grand finale of 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. On my previous blog posts, I shared some of the countries who compete for this year's Pyromusical competition such as France vs Japan as well as Finland vs Canada. 

Today, let me share with you the finale night of this year's Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. USA vs Philippines showed the amazing pyromusical display. The skies lit also by the pyromusical rendered by the Platinum Fireworks. It was a night of surprises from spectacular pyromusical display, performance from Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo and more.

The event also announces the winners of this year's Philippines International Pyromusical Competition. The 2rd Placer is United Kingdom, 1st Placer is China and the grand winner is Canada, they also bagged the Bonchon Global Phenomenon award.

Earth Day Network Philippines' PRO-EARTH RUN on April 12

Taking care of the place we live-in, is a better idea for us to have a quality life, not just for the moment but for the next generations. The Voice Philippines' finalist Myk Perez, now a certified recording artist as he release his debut album "My Acoustic" with the number one music company in the Philippines - MCA Music. 

My Acoustic album composed of eleven songs such as Easy, Two Is Better Than One, Why, the carrier single is Runaway, which personally chosen by Myk himself, Clarity, Myk's original composition Honey Under The Moon, Fix You, Chasing Pavements, Give Me Love, Baby I Love Your Way and the bonus track Fix You (Unplugged).

At the blogger's conference happen recently, Myk shared to us that he is very happy having an album that will define his voice and way he thinks through an album.

"Napakasaya ko po that MCA gave me freedom to choose the songs for my album and includes my original composition titled "Honey Under The Moon", napaka special po ng song na ito sa akin" Myk shared.

Quick Stomach at Blue Bay Walk, Macapagal Avenue

Last week me and my blogger friends were invited to the newly open restaurant, Quick Stomach by CHADO The Tea Room located at the latest establishment at Blue Bay Walk, Macapagal Avenue Pasay City

We were welcome by the owners of the restaurant, Ronnie Tan and Lawrence Miranda and half of the staff who are busy preparing line of food for us to take photos and taste. While waiting for our tables to be overflowing with food, we took photos of the spacious place with a capacity of 30 people inside and for smokers they also have four tables outside.

Then the foods are arriving one-by-one as we took photos of them. When the table is ready we started to taste them as well. They have variety of food from Chinese dimsums, breakfast favorites, pasta and pork, beef, chicken, fish meals. They also have the all-time favorite CHADO Milktea.

The prizes of their meals are very affordable and the serving is generous, my personal favorites are the Russian Beef Stew and the Creamy Pork Rice. As you can see they serve it with mix greens or veggies according to availability.

They have a wide variety of dimsum and I like all of them hehe :) From Shark's Fin, Siomai, Kutchay, Japanese Siomai, Hakaw and more. The prizes of the dimsum ranges from 45-98Php and can you see how big they are? yes the Quick Stomach dimsum are bigger than the regular one, with tender meat and very tasteful.

Quick Stomach's CHADO drinks are perfect combination for the foods above, from milltea, fresh fruit shake and Japanese fusion fruit mix tea.

Recently a trade launch was held at the spacious 1.SM Mall of Asia Arena, wherein the twelve (12) major brands are present and presented their products and offerings. Together with four of my blogger girl friends Ruth, Ria and Jing, we visited every booth and enjoyed the experience from a comfy fully operated lazy boy chair of 4.SM Cinema and 5. Director's Club, with a knowledge about 6.IMAX and 7.WM Cinema.We also enjoyed the 8.Snack Time booth which we had a delicious pop corn, drinks and limited edition movie premium items. 9. SM Tickets, easy access for tickets availability on all the events in the metro. Educational experience specially for children at 10.SM Science Center. The last two major brands that was presented at the trade launch are the famous sports right now because we can enjoy it with our family and friends 11. SM Skating Rink and 12. SM Bowling Center.

One Fighting Championship Returns to Manila

Last year One Fighting Championship (One FC) offered the best of the best battles between Mix Martial Arts (MMA) fighters of Asia. This year as they return to Manila on May 2 titled ONE FC:RISE OF HEROES, that will be happening in the SM Mall of Asia Arena, get ready for an action-packed match-ups.

Prepared for another adrenalin pumping fights in the cage between the best Featherweight Australian Rob Lisita versus Legend FC Bantanweight champion Yusuke Kawanago. 

Since it will happen here in our country, our very own MMA fighters will not be left behind for sure, one of which is presented at the presscon, Eugene Toguero who shown great fights in 2012, versus the most talented prospects in the world Malaysian Japanese Gianni Subba.

Of course one of the highlights of the night is the most decorated MMA in the world, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belter Bibiano Fernandes versus the former Shooto Featherweight Champion Masakatsu Ueda.

This year, Electrolux, a global leader in household appliances, partnered with the University of the Philippines-Diliman, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, and University of the East-Caloocan to give design students a chance to create a thoughtful, modern home for the rest of the world to enjoy.

Design students around the globe are invited to submit innovative ideas for the future household for a chance to win € 5,000 and a six-month paid internship at an Electrolux Global Design Center.

On its 12th year, Electrolux Design Lab continues to pave the way for future visions of urban household lifestyles, with the theme Creating Healthy Homes. The competition seeks ideas for products, accessories, consumables and services for three focus areas: Culinary Enjoyment, Fabric Care and Air Purification. Through the Design Lab competition, Electrolux sees a creative and sustainable future that projects a healthy well-being and pleasant environment for everyone to live in.

Andrea Pionilla, Marketing Manager, Electrolux Philippines, explains, “Design Lab is Electrolux’s way of fostering technological innovation. 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition (Finland vs Canada)

Let me share to you again another competing countries for the 5th Philippine Internatiotinal Pyromusical Competition last Saturday March 15. As you remember a couple of weeks ago, I shared the pyromusical display of France and Japan (HERE). Today let me show fireworks display photos of the Finland and Canada.

The first country who showed an amazing light and sound which lasted for almost 18 minutes incorporated with the hit songs of today, is Finland specifically the Oy Pyroman Finland Ltd. A company that's been in the industry for 16 years and mark a great reputation in fireworks display competition worldwide. They worked with the Eurovision in Moscow 2009 and Eurovision 2008 in Belgrade and The Nightwish World Tour 2007-2009.

On the other hand, which for me dominated the scene that night is the pyromusical display of Canada which lasted for 20 minutes. Royal Pyrotechnie is a family business which was started in a small toy store that sold small crackers. Until they started to join the fireworks contest since 1967, the company has grown and honed their craft. They are only the company to have received the Jupiter D'Or Award twice.

A bonus of pyromusical display offered by Bonchon was also shown. A fireworks display which was combined with their official jingle.
