The first teamed-up of Toni Gonzaga and John Lloyd Cruz on TV as Julie and Romy respectively. A husband and wife who found "the one" with each other. But the story will be more brighter and "chaotic"? in their home when extended families join them "temporarily" hehehe..

Healthy eating with Easy Cooks's peas, lentils and beans

Before Christmas and New Year's celebrations, let me share the things I've learned recently by attending Easy Cook's Peas and Lentils cooking demonstration by one of the famous chef of our country Chef Ojie Reloj. Happened at the equip Genting-Star Tourism Academy, the afternoon was full of knowledge about cooking, healthy meal and enjoyable games.

First of, is the Lentils and Pesto Macaroni Soup which of course the main ingredient is the healthy Easy Cook' Lentils and Ideal Twist Macaroni, that you can avail in any supermarket nationwide in a very affordable prices. Then the Sticky Chipotle Pork with Barbecue Pinto Beans using Easy Cook's Bean by Ideal Gourmet and last but not the least, is the Curried Red Kidney Beans with Jalapeno Pepper. Of the three prepared dishes, the latter is my favorite specially when you dipped a Roti on it, it's perfect.

We also took chance to join in the games which gave as a prizes like Ideal products even if we didn't won, totally enjoyed it and the thinking of using it this holiday celebrations. 

I am more excited to cook healthy meals this holiday for my love ones, because I learned new dishes which I know my family will enjoy as I do. Thank you so much Easy Cook, Ideal Gourmet, Genting-Star Tourism Academy Manila and Chef Ojie Reloj.

2013 MMFF New Wave "Saka Saka"

Are you ready to watch the films included in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival? Well same here, but while waiting for the Christmas day, why not watch the MMFF New Wave category which will be shown starting tomorrow December 18 at Glorietta 4 cinemas and SM Megamall.

The MMFF's New Wave section was introduced in 2010 to cater to independent or "indie" producers ans aspiring student filmmakers fro various colleges and universities in the country.

They are almost 13 films for the New Wave and 5 of them are the Full Length that includes Saka Saka, Mga Anino ng Kahapon, Islands Dreams, Dukit and Maestra.

Recently, press and bloggers had a chance to interview the director and casts of the film Saka Saka (Political Assassin) Mr. Toto Natividad, Ejay Falcon and Joseph Marco. The presscon happened at the Whistlestop Restaurant in ELJ Building, ABS-CBN Compound.

"Gusto namin ibalik ang hilig ng tao sa action film which is hina hanap hanap na nila ngayon kasi matagal siya nawala eh" direk Toto said. "Alam nyo the trends in movie is revolving lang naman eh, nauso ung comedy, romance and nagyon ibabalik natin ang action, especially now that we have great actors like Ejay and Joseph na pwede na talagang isabak sa action" he added.

"Gusto ko po talaga ng action na genre, kung papipiliin po ako mas comfortable po ako with action project, specially when direk Toto is on my side po, madami po akong natututunan sa mga itinuturo nya" Ejay divulge. "Mas nauna po itong movie na ito than our action-serye na Dugong Buhay, kaya masasabi ko na ito po yung naging training ground ko before mag Dugong Buhay" he added.

Watch out for more actions from Saka Saka starting tomorrow and let us all patronage the Filipino films specially now that the festival is about to start....

Metro Society's 10th Anniversary supported by LG Curved OLED TV

On the first day of the month and season of giving, Metro Society, in cooperation with LG Electronics Philippines, celebrated its 10th anniversary in the form of a charity and thanksgiving event at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino. The proceeds of the event go to Yolanda victims through Sagip Kapamilya.

We all know that a lot of Filipinos are affected by the recent typhoon Yolanda and the event is dedicated to the victims of super typhoon. More so, the event focused on the timeless beauty found in this generation and society. The event was graced by beautiful guests, fashion designers, and muses who were eager to help strengthen the cause.

Before the event started, the guests witnessed the wonders of LG Curved OLED TV which surrounds the four corners of the venue. Shown are the videos of Metro Society's ten radiant women that have shined and shown distinction in their field in the past decade.

DSWD and WFP Philippines now begin the cash distributions for Yolanda survivors

Recently, our country's Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will provide 260M pesos or 6M USD in cash assistance to almost 500,000 food insecure people across 50 provinces of Leyte and Samar to Super Typhoon Yolanda survivors.

According to DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman, this partnership with WFP is a proof that during times of adversity, conditional cash transfer programs become a good avenue for humanitarian aid to reach its intended recipients.

A fixed emergency cash grant of PHP1,300 per household per month will be added on top of the beneficiaries’ Pantawid Pamilya cash grants for the months of December this year and January next year.

The most food insecure households were identified in WFP’s post-‘Yolanda’ assessments among the vulnerable families already identified by the Pantawid Pamilya. In addition to the cash grant from WFP, each family will also receive a one-month supply of rice.

Now, WFP’s has already distributed nearly 6,000MT of rice, 190MT of high-energy biscuits, and 2MT of nutritional products for children, which have been distributed to some 3 million people, in partnership with DSWD and other non-government organizations.

WFP Philippines Country Director and Representative Praveen Agrawal said the WFP's responce centered into 3 principles versatility, scale and partnerships. They need to provide the right kind of assistance as circumstance change and the assessments indicate that a combination of cash support and in-kind rice is an effective approach.

Chino Roque of AXE Apollo Team Philippines breezes through Space Camp assault course

Filipino astronaut aspirant Chino Roque breezes through Space Camp assault course particularly in a zipline while taking part in the AXE Apollo Space Academy Space Camp at the Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Florida.

The obstacle course, which tests the astronaut aspirants’ physical attributes they will need to cope with a zero gravity environment, is part of an intense AXE Space Academy training program that 107 men and women from 60 different countries are embarking on in a bid to achieve their ultimate dream of becoming one of only 23 astronauts who will travel to space on-board a Space Expedition Corporation shuttle.

The AXE Apollo Space Academy is a global, year-long campaign to give 23 ordinary men and women the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to space and become astronauts. Since its launch, AXE has received more than 1 million AXE Apollo Space Academy entries and almost 30,000 of these came from the Philippines.

Through the AXE National Challenge program and AXE Hyperdrive promo, Unilever Philippines was able to select three Filipinos to form the AXE Apollo Team Philippines who will represent the country to the Space Camp.

The AXE Apollo Team Philippines is composed of Evan Ray Datuin, an everyman with big dreams who won in the AXE Apollo National Challenge; Ramil Santos, an Electronics and Information engineer who believes space is his destiny after winning the AXE Hyperdrive Promo; and Crossfit trainer Chino Roque.

"ILOILO"...to the world, directed by Anthony Chen

ILOILO, a province in the Western Visayas of our country, is used as the title of the winning movie before its officially shown in Philippines. I've seen the movie and it really touches my heart, aside from the fact, that at a young age we have a nanny, I know how important it is to have one. Being attached to one is reality especially if they served you a long period of time. For me i think the film really deserves the recognition and awards given onto them. The director really showed the realistic situation of a Singaporean household, the actors and actresses especially Angeli act naturally and effectively, and finally the film discusses cultural and habitual norms of every nationalities.

Preparations of AXE Apollo Team Philippines for Space Camp

Our country's Axe Apollo representatives headed over to Florida to compete with the Axe Apollo participants from almost 25 countries. But before that they undergone an intensive training here in our country.

A weeks of training under Crossfit Manila (CFMNL) and Siltless Deep Sea Diving Center which will make them fully ready physically and mentally. Axe Apollo Philippine Team, Evan Ray Datuin, Ramil Santos, and Chino Roque goes it all for our country.

Crossfit Manila or CFMNL, prepared the Axe Apollo Philippine Team by giving ten high intensity crossfit training. Even,Ramil and Chino were given an extreme battery of seven AMRAP (as many round/reps as possible) of wall balls, box jumps, squat thrusts, push-ups, and chin-ups. Im sure their body is ready and limitless afterwards. CFMNL branches are located atthe Fort, Pasig, Libis and Alabang.

Siltless Diving leaded by Jason Kho Gillo trained the Axe Apollo Philippine Team by providing them three in-water instructions, they were taken on a Discover Scuba Experience program for them to deal with near-weightless environments. As an introduction rather than a full course, of the 5 Chapters required to complete the Discover Scuba Experience program, only 1 was given for the three astronaut hopefuls.

Then the AXE Apollo Team Philippines were given a physical test at the St. Luke’s Global City's Felicidad Sy Health and Wellness Center, to assess their physical fitness and health readiness for the rigors of space camp. They had basic medical consultations, blood tests, x-rays, treadmill exercise tests, ECG’s, and ultrasound using the hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities.

The Team Axe Apollo Philippines are all set before they went to AXE Apollo Space Camp, Orlando Florida. As they head towards their date with destiny, the entire Filipino nation is ready to share in this moment and cheer them on.

Repertory Philippines Announces 2014 Season 77 line-up of shows

Repertory Philippines is celebrating  its 47th year and for next year's line-up of shows, they announce them today. Repertory Philippines Season 77 has full of exciting and  interesting stage shows.

By January 2014 get ready for the thriller of "Wait Until Dark" featuring Liesl Batucan directed by Miguel Faustmann. By February it's a black comedy by Tracy Letts, the "August:Osage Country" directed by Chris Millado. Then by March, a farce "Noises Off" by Michael Frayn and directed by Miguel Faustmann. The exciting Musical for Theater for Young Audiences will run the "Pinocchio" that will be directed by Joy Virata by August. The last but not the least is a family musical "Scrooge" directed by Baby Barredo by November.

Galema: Anak Ni Zuma, set visit

ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold "Galema: Anak Ni Zuma" has been dominating the afternoon television ratings. We followed the story of Zuma's daughter Galema from birth up to now that she's grown-up and beginning to fall in-love as well.

Recently we visited the set of ABS-CBN's top-rating fantasy Galema:Anak Ni Zuma at Quezon City and we had a chance to interview the young main casts of the teleserye. Matteo Guidecelli, Bryan Santos and of course Galema herself Andi Eigenman.

I'm sure you are all following the story of Galema specially the love triangle happening between the three characters, reason why it get more and more intense. Started with a stolen kiss, to mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, Galema (Andi) and Morgan (Matteo) admitted each others feelings at last week's episodes when they got lost in the forest.

But now the revelation is near were Morgan will discover the true personality of Galema, that she is a daughter of Zuma who also has twin snakes hiding in her neck. 

"Abangan nyo po what will happen to us if that's gonna be the case na this week, who she will choose as well si William (Bryan) na pinagkatiwalaan pa din sya despite na nalaman nya ang tunay na katauhan ni Galema or si Morgan, basta abangan nyo po" Andi said.

MMFF 2013's Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel, set visit

Last week bloggers had a chance to visit the set of the movie Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel at Taguig City. As we enter the set, it is in Go Dong Hae office set-up but with a more modern and classy one this time. We are told that the shooting day is more on fighting scenes. 

True as it is, because the next scene as we arrived is another action pack and we had a chance to take a behind-the-scene photos of it. I've seen Sam Milby (Rodin in Kimmy Dora) and his movie, so many times now, but I never seen him fighting like that. He is so good and can be an action star as well.

Afterwhich, we had an opportunity to interview the multi-talented actress Kimmy and Dora herself Ms. Eugene Domingo. In the third installment of Kimmy Dora from Kambal Sa Kiyema, to The Temple of Kiyeme now its Kiyemeng Prequel, she admitted that this one is more of a challenging because she must prove that the situation will go back from the time Kimmy and Dora just graduated in college and doing their internship. But I think she did it well, because aside from she lost weight, Ms. Eugene also has a very cool personality.

Upon asking, what must be the must seen scenes in the movie are their kissing scene with Sam ( she called him "Perfection") without using their lips, the beach scene and of course the fighting scenes between characters. "Ma-action and movie namin ngayon and of course punong-puno pa din ng katatawanan" Eugene promised. She is also very honored to worked with the multi-awarded actors like Angel Aquino and Joel Torre.

We also had a chance to talk to Ms. Angel Aquino which happen to be her last day of shooting (lucky for us to be there for her final walk). I admit that I really like Ms. Angel in all aspect from acting, hosting and being a mom. I could not imagine how she does things balance despite busy schedule "I make sure that I have time talaga for my family as much as possible I wanna be with them, sometimes like this I have my daughter with me" [Laughs] pointing on her daughter seating at the corner of the room.
