For almost 20 years, International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences (ISSAAS) is conducting an annual international congress to improve the growth and development of agriculture and related industries to greatly improve the economy of Asian countries.
With this year's theme, "Linking Agriculture with Tourism: Meeting the Global Challenges" of the future, the congress aims to encourage not only visitors in each Asian country but mostly the young and idealistic minds to explore the industry of agriculture.
Starting tomorrow up to November 12 to November 14, the members of ISSAAS all over Asia headed in our country to update and explore agricultural richness, spare headed by the President of ISSAAS&Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, UP Los Banos Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr.
The congress will be happening at Acacia Hotel Grand Ballroom and Bellevue Hotel Manila, Alabang, Muntinlupa City as it opens through ribbon cutting with Senator Cynthia A. Villar, Dr. Sanchez, President of, SAEDA & Pasr President of TUA Dr. Kanju Ohsawa and UPLB Chancellor Rex Victor O. Cruz.
On the four day discussions and activities includes also the participants visit at University of the Philippines Los Banos, International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and Taal Lake's agricultural richness. There they will have a chance to share each others learning about agriculture at the same time enjoy our country's agricultural diversity.
