This
year marks a substantial growth for picture quality displays as global leader
and technology innovator LG Electronics pushes out home entertainment and
mobile devices that embody the concept of creating the perfect picture.
World-Class
Picture Quality in Home Entertainment
The
world’s first 84-inch Ultra HD TV
was introduced by LG and boasts of picture quality four times higher than Full
HD with 8.3 million pixels. This showcases
an extensive range of colors and impressive degree of picture accuracy for a
lifelike, enthralling viewing experience.
The TV also projects powerful sound quality with its 50W audio bursting
from a 2.2 speaker system, bringing as much depth and liveliness to one’s ears
as the screen brings to one’s eyes.
LG
also pioneered the world’s first 55-inch
OLED TV or Organic LED (Light Emitting Diode). Outstanding picture and sound quality are
encased in an astonishingly slim 4mm width and light 10kg weight. Unlike LCD displays, backlights are not
needed with OLED technology, reducing power consumption and distortions even at
extreme angles. To perfect the
experience, LG OLED TV also combines the company’s industry-leading CINEMA 3D technology with
Smart TV capabilities.
LG takes it a
step further with the world’s first Curved
OLED TV, a 55-inch wide and 4.3mm thick TV which promises the immersive
IMAX experience in the comfort of the viewer’s home. With its concave shape, the
content display feels more alive and closer to real-life images. Its major highlights include: 4 Color Pixel (white, red, green, and blue or WRGB technology),
which displays eight million colors for more true-to-life accuracy; improved Motion Clarity with a response time approximately
100 times faster than conventional LED TVs; Infinite
Contrast, which displays deep colors from blazing white to darkest black;
and the Viewing Angle of the
curvature, which eliminates screen-edge
visual distortion and loss of detail.
Best-in-Class
Display in Mobile Handsets
LG’s
excellence in displays is not limited to TVs.
Its two premium smartphone models, the G2 and the Optimus G Pro, offer staggeringly
high picture quality and an expansive viewing experience.
LG G2,
LG Mobile’s flagship product hailed as “best smartphone in the world” by
Stuff.tv, has a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, which is the largest display
designed for one-handed operation in today’s popular 2.7-inch category. This is the first handset to ever feature a
camera with Full HD, 13 megapixels, and Optical Image Stabilization for
extremely clear, bright, and sharp images.
Other
industry firsts in the LG G2, among many, are the 8X Digital Zoom and 9 Multi-Point Auto-Focus.
LG
Optimus G Pro also has Full HD and a 13MP camera, but with its 5.5-inch IPS
display, it falls into the phablet spectrum.
Similar to G2, the Optimus G Pro’s photo and video quality are consistently
spectacular with vivid colors and precise details. It also pioneered special camera features
such as the VR Panorama for all-encompassing photos and Pause and Resume
Recording for polished videos.
LG
Displays Recognized through Awards and Certifications
The
picture quality of LG products has been globally acclaimed through various
international honors. The LG Curved OLED
TV won the “Best of the Best” prize at the Red Dot Design Award. It is also the first TV in the world to
achieve THX® display certification, which verifies its world-class picture
quality. The LG 84-inch Ultra HD TV scored
certification from Underwriter Laboratories, a respected product testing body
which rigorously measures the energy-efficiency, viewing angle, contrast
consistency, color accuracy, and 3D performance of a TV display. This same product bagged the Best Picture
Quality Technology Award at the China Digital TV Forum. And most recently, the LG Optimus G Pro
smartphone won “Best LTE Device” at the LTE World Summit 2013.
With
all these new products lined up, 2013 is truly a significant year for LG
Display. Adhering to the brand’s
ambition, LG will continue creating the perfect picture through innovative products
that will concretely shape the future of display technology.
