The Department of Trade and Industry's Sikat Pinoy Handicrafts fair opened yesterday, but wil last until Monday September 23 at SM Megatrade Halls, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. The opening of the fair is leaded by the DTI Under Secretary Ponciano Manalo, Jr of the Trade and Industry Promotions Group.
Almost 300 exhibitors participated on the said fair, from holiday decor, figurines, Christmas ornaments, furniture, bags, shoes, slippers, jewelry, accessories and more. There are also three settings that includes New Products Showcase by Design Center Philippines, Raw Materials Showcase featuring indigenous raw materials and the Christmas Showcase.
The DTI- Bureau of Domestic Trade (DTI-BDT), which is mandated to develop, strengthen and promote the domestic market for micro, small and medium enterprise (MSEME's) invited the Christmas Decor Producers and Exporters Association of the Philippines (CDPEAP) to showcase their products in the centerpiece special setting. Some of the CDPEAP members and other producers of holiday decor also have their own individual booths where they are selling their products in anticipation on the coming Christmas season.
