B/Y Request concert of Bamboo and Yeng Constantino

The highly anticipated and most requested musical combos Bamboo and Yeng Constantino will be having a major concert at Araneta Coliseum entitled "B/Y Request" on August 17, Saturday, 8PM. AXE Apollo Space Academy's search for the first Filipino astronaut continues

Globally the total estimated number of applications reached over 2 million from over 20 million visitors to www.axeapollo.com. The Philippines landing within the top five countries worldwide applicants. From United States with 107,952, United Kingdom with 80,646, France with 42,255, Philippines with 28,020 and Brazil with 24,763 the search for qualified persons continues.

The search of AXE Apollo Space Academy's for the first Filipino astronaut is still on. AXE Philippines chosen the drafts to the A.A.S.A. last May 15, 2013, with a massive 28,000 applications to the program from over 600,000 site visits - and that's only from the Philippines.

In the Philippines, we will start the qualifying challenges by August in which AXE Apollo National Challenges with three stages (intellect, physical and will power) are presented until they will down to two candidates from the top-voted applicants. Two last two standing will undergo training at the international AXE Apollo Global Space Camp in Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. scheduled for December of this year. Gearing up for AXE Apollo National Challenges phase of the campaign are A.A.S.A. National Selections Directors Ramon Bautista, Luis Manzano, Sam Gogna, and Gino Quillamor.

The first stage will be online challenge with 4,485 top-voted candidates being asked to undergo a test of mathematical wit, abstract reasoning, color recognition, and spatial reasoning. And they will choose top 400 candidates who excel on the test.

The second stage will be the physical challenge wherein, the top 400 candidates, will asked to run an obstacle course inspired by courses used in military training. And 50 top finishers will be selected to advance to the third stage of the challenge.

The third stage is a test of endurance and willpower. The A.A.S.A. calls this test "last heroes standing" where candidates will be asked to outlast one another in tough physical conditions. From this challenge, two

people will be declared as the country's representatives to the international AXE Apollo Space Camp in the U.S.

"Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" Showing July 31, 2013

The film is all about the boss, Alex Prieto (Xian) and the assistant, Sandy Veloso (Kim) they destined to meet and help each other and become friends with benefits, in some sort, because Alex needs Sandy to learn to run their company effectively. On the other hand, Sandy needs Alex to learn to play the practical game of dating and handling ralationship for her to get back her ex-boyfriend Gardo (Kean Cepriano). But twist and turns happen and A am sure they will end up together hehe...(kilig).

At the bloggers conference (blogcon), happen recently the casts shared insights about the film. "After Dekada, this is the time again Star Cinema did a movie na adapted from a book and the viewers should look forward to, kasi this is something new, something fresh, this is something worth watching" Xian shared.

The band vocalist turned actor Kean Cipriano is very happy because Star Cinema trust him for another film and happy the the film industry is growing and exploring in terms of sources and capability "lumalawak yung level ng art natin, kung anong medium man yan, sa book, movie or music. Ngayon yung libro ginagawa na ng movie so parang gumaganda yung level ng movie industry natin".

From a seperate BlogCon which was happen last Saturday, the director of the film shared that the film cut some part of the book but the important details are all presented "We have to cut some of the books' part especially when the songs that Ramon has, so sobrang haba nung ganun so skip namin or cut namin yung mga ganun, pero so far so good we made all the essential part of it presented in the film" Bb. Joyce stated.

The author of the book himself, Ramon Bautista is very happy that Star Cinema made a movie adapted from his book and he announces that he is making a second book entitled "Help, Ayaw Ko Na Sa Syota Ko".

Repertory Philippines will soon be offering a colorful and magical place as it stage the Alice in Wonderland featuring a surrounding music and productive dance performances that will surely entertain each and every audience.

In this whimsical journey, Alice will meet all of Wonderland's famous, colorful, witty and popular personalities within, including the King and Queen of Hearts, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Gryphon, Mock Turtle, Dormouse, Mad Hatter and March Hare, the Dutchess, Cheshire Cat and of course, the White Rabbit.

Alice will be played alternately by Dani Gana and Chaye Mogg, the young girl journeying the Wonderland and experiences strange creatures and gained new friends. As the usual story, she will changes her usual size inside the Wonderland and will then meet March Hare, Mad Hatter as well as Queen of Hearts. She will learn a lot of life lessons and self realizations as well.

Sun Broadband Quest winners

Sun Broadband and MCA Music, Inc.,is in quest to find the new bands that will be notice in the music scene. Since December last year, unsigned and amateur college bands ages 16-25, showed their talents and music. Last month the top 10 bands were chosen and last Friday, July 12, the grand winner was awarded.

Almost 145 participants registered nationwide and joined the contest and only 10 bands were chosen namely: Baby Boomers, Bad Hair Day, Dagsin, Crowd 7, Jack N' Poy, Iktus, Low Grad Repeat, J Squad, Mariae and Soul Page. Their performed their cover song and original composition.

Before the final performance the band members undergone a one day intensive workshop last June 29, wherein iconic and great musicians of local industry. Mentors like Nyoy Volante, Ebe Dancel, Francis Reyes, Mally Paraguya, Eunice Jorge and Mike Dizon rendered their knowledge and talent with the bands.

The final night was held at Music Museum last July 12,2013 with judges Francis Guevarra, Sammy Samaniego, Francis Reyes and Neph Denoste. Great performances in between the battle of the bands from Chicosci, The Octaves, Sabrina and Tanya Marcova. After which the winners are: 2nd Runner Up is Baby Boomers of PWU Davao/Brokenshire College/Holy Cross College/Ateneo De Manila University, 1st Runner Up is Bad Hair Day of FEU and the Grand Winner is Iktus of Christian International School. Each band winner took home cash prizes 25,000Php, 50,000Php and 150,000php+20,000Php respectively.

Congratulations to the winners and good luck on your journey to the new world of music, much bigger and brighter future ahead of you guys.

Skylights Films "Tuhog" in theaters July 17

Known for its edgy, out of the box film production, Skylights Films, now brings you another movie that will chance your perception in life and lives of people around you. The movie "Tuhog" starred by Eugene Domingo, Jake Cuenca, Enchong Dee and Leo Martinez.

A maindie movie directed by Veronica Velasco, promises to have blend of drama, love, and comedy for moviegoers that expecting to be entertain. Tuhog is a beautiful story about love, life and hope of three individuals, as such, Fiesta (Eugene), Tonio (Leo) and Caloy (Enchong) that will connect each others lives after a tragic accident.
