Maria Mercedes of the Philippines, Jessy Mendiola bares it all

The Maria Mercedes of the Philippines is now revealed, it is one of the prettiest faces in showbiz industry - Ms. Jessy Mediola. Born in Dubai to a British-Lebanese father and a Pinay mother, but grew up without a father. With a workaholic mother and two siblings, Jessy's family survive through thick and thin. Until 2007 came, when she and her sister join the Star Magic workshop and the rest is history.

Life wasn't easy for Jessy and her family, with a mother who's working to support their needs in her younger years. "Si momy lang ang bumuhay sa amin kasi my father left when I was 6 years old, from then on, my mom is working hard for us to survive".

Her answer, if her mom has to do with her and JM's broke-up, "Opo isa po sa dahilan ang mom ko, kasi malaking factor naman din po talaga ang nanay sa isang relation, kung meron kang karelasyon or mahal na tao may malaking say ang nanay mo dun, dahil nanay mo sya eh".

Jessy's determination and hard work are the edge to her stardom, she waited for 6 years until she was given a big break in "Sabel". Then "Budoy" and "Precious Hearts Romances Presents Paraiso" and now she is now the "Maria Mercedes" of the Philippines.

Coca-Cola Philippines' 34th Agos Ram Pump Awarded to Barangay Mascap Rodriguez Rizal

Water is essential to all living creations. For many people, having a supply of water is very important even plants and animals needs sufficient quantity of water to survive. 

AGOS (flow), a Coca-Cola Philippines' flagship program since 2012 (Coca-Cola's 100 years in the Philippines), that aims to install Agos Ram Pumps to 100 water poor communities across the country. This in line with the Company's 2020 vision of returning water it uses in the manufacturing and production.

I, together with other press and bloggers, had a chance to witness the 34th Agos Ram Pump turnover ceremony to Sitio Lower Macopoy, Barangay Mascap, Rodriguez Rizal. Coca-Cola Foundation together with Earth Day Network Philippines and AIDFI graced the turnover and also the beneficiaries/residents of the Barangay and their officials are present. They also awarded the tools and equipment that will be use in maintaining the ram pumps efficiency. Also two residents of Barangay Mascap were trained to lead maintenance of pumps.

Hydaulic ram pump system is a 200-year old technology, using just the natural kinetic energy from free flowing water to pump water uphill. Ram pumps are located by a flowing river or scream and a pipeline connects the pump to a storage tank that feeds several communal tap stands within the community. It uses by so many people specially the upland rural communities.

This June, the first ever Mr & Ms Chinatown Philippines will be air on ABS-CBN. The Miss Chinatown Foundation together with ABS-CBN will redefine Filipino-Chinese beauty as it meets two cultures, artistic goals and way for better business relations. 

Recently, bloggers had a chance to meet the 32 Filipino-Chinese candidates at Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant at Lucky Chinatown mall in Binondo, Manila. The place dominated with beauty and glamour when the female candidates arrived. Candidates had a one-on-one interview with the bloggers and for me is candidate number 8, Samantha Jade Dy.



Samantha Jade Dy, a 23 years old pure Chinese and had years of experience in modeling and pageants, that made her more confident on this competitions.Jade shared that most of them audition through Carousel Productions since late last year. Aside from beauty, Jade also took Fashion Design in College of St. Benilde and she owned a nail spa business at IL Terrazo QC, like any other Chinese, business is their training ground to gain success life.

The female official candidates are: Jerene Tan, Robyn Kimberly Tan, Michelle Marie Sy, Rolini Lim Pineda, Jamie Chua Reyes, Lhowelle Lyka Tan, Sheryl Elaine Chua, Samantha Jade Dy, Maricon Cho, Hannah Dy, Frances Elaine Cham, Kimberly Nicole Ang Mas, Aeryka Chua, Catrina Myka De Guzman Ang, Catherine Yao and Anna Patricia Baesa Tan.

Aside from Jade, I had a chance to interview John Christopher Sy. John shared that there were lots of activities which they took and learn like Chinese language lessons and visiting different institutions for courtesy calls "Natutuwa po ako sa mga nagiging activities na'min like the lessons that we took for us to enhance our language" John said.

2013 Gawad Urian Awards Winners

Last night, I had an opportunity to cover the 36th Gawad Urian at NBC Tent, Taguig City. Gawad Urian is one of our country's award giving body to recognize, honor and celebrate cinematic excellence of films yearly. This year the partnership between Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino and Cinema One made this all possible to  recognize both progressive filmmaking and emerging cinema talent.

The event was hosted by Butch Francisco, Richard Gutierrez, Cherie Gil, Xian Lim and Iza Calzado that welcome everybody with their elegant Filipinianas and Barongs. KZ Tandingan and Abra sang "Ang Himig Natin" for the opening production.Also Aiza Seguerra with the band General Luna performed and sing to entertained the audience.

Newest Kapamilya Primetime Bida Loveteam Khalil Ramos and Sue Ramirez for Annaliza

ABS-CBN's Primetime teleserye Annaliza is now hitting its higher rate on television weekly. From the team-up of Kaye Abad and Zandoe Marudo to Annaliza herself Andrea Brillantes, Kapamilya primetime teleserye is always on top and dominating television. Filipino values like family ties, resiliency etc., are shown and learn at the said teleserye. 

Today, i think you've noticed that, another Kapamilya teen stars are added on the dramaserye that giving us more 'kilig' and values especially for teens. Khalil Ramos who discovered at Pilipinas Got Talent and now a member of Star Magic Philippines and Sue Anna Ramirez was discovered directly by Star Magic Philippines through auditions. 

Khalil is a rocker heartthrob Jeric and a brother of Isabel (Denise Laurel) that will soon develop a special friendship with his big fan Luisa (Sue), a sister a Stella (Kaye Abad). "Nabigyan po ako ng opportunity for this role, bihirang bihira po yung babigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon, so pagbubutihan ko po at tatanggapin po yung mga changes sa buhay" Sue said.

The teen stars are both very happy that they were given a chance to prove themselves more in terms of acting in order to show the skills they learn from different workshops they attended. "Sobrang thankful po kami, especially me that ABS-CBN is trusting me" Khalil said. "Nabigyan na din po nila ako chance to 'Princess and I' dati and ngayon po" he added.

Their characters in Annaliza didn't exist on the original Annaliza (Julie Vega) before, but the production team decided to make the love team for the teens and young televiewers to relate and learn more values from the teleserye.

Julia Barretto on Maalaala Mo Kaya on Saturday (June 15)

Julia Barretto is one of the rising stars of ABS-CBN Kapamilya, from the Star  Magic Philippines group to being a Barretto, Julia posses a talent that has grown and develop. 

On June 15, Saturday she will be featured on Kapamilya's longest-running drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) for the Father's Day episode of the said TV show. She will be portraying the role of daughter in conflict Alex who grew up in a happy family but chaos started to prolong when her mother abandoned them because of her father's turned drug addict. 

Before Maalaala Mo Kaya on Saturday, bloggers had a chance to meet her and know more about her. Julia will be entering as junior student at St. Paul Pasig (program) which will start next month. "Under that program i will be able to go to school twice or trice a week or they will fix your schedule".

This is Julia's first acting role on TV and she is very happy to be given an opportunity like this and she shares that, it is hard to have a starring role on MMK especially for a new teen actress like her, for that, she did all her best to give justice on her role."Skills and knowledge from the workshops I attended before gives me more confident and of course with the help of my director, co-actors and actresses".

As a teenager, Julia loves pizza (all cheese) and even her fans knew it, that's why every now and then she have pizza in anywhere she goes. She also like and always be with her family and cousins to bond together. But she really focus on her career and doing everything to enhance her acting. 

I'm sure Julia will be one of the Barrettos who gain awards in showbiz industry and let us all support her in MMK on Saturday after "Wansapanataym" on ABS-CBN our Kapamilya network.

Ito Na, Glee Cast Members and Happiness Ambassadors Share Coca-Cola Mismo

The Mystery Crate was open, the cast of Glee ( Dean Geyer, Jacob Artist, Melissa Benoist and Becca Tobin) and Happiness Ambassadors (Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes, Enchong Dee and Joseph Marco)  share Coca-Cola Mismo today at selected Ayala malls  like Trinoma, Market!Market! Glorietta and in SM Masinag. At exactly 2PM all designated Mystery Crates at malls open simultaneously and spread happiness by giving Coca-Cola Mismo to those who visit and join the opening of each crates.

I arrived at Trinoma exactly 1PM and the venue was  full packed of curious people about the Mystery Crates and almost all of them wears red (that includes me). The color of love and happiness brings me joy, especially when I saw my blogger fends. I took the chance to stand at my most comfortable place to take photos and record the opening of the crate. The program started almost half an hour before the crates be open and UE cheering squad perform and dancers rendered their moves gracefully. Then the Happiness Ambassadors  and cast of Glee joined on stage then go straight to the Mystery Crate area at 1.50PM.

At exactly 2PM, the Mystery Crate was open and Coca-Cola Mismo was the content of it.  Then the cast of Glee and Happiness Ambassadors was the first to taste the Coca-Cola Mismo as they open it  with happiness. After which, people lined-up and had a chance to receive also the happiness from Coca-Cola .All are happy and contented including me because we receive not only one nor two, but six bottles of Coca-Cola Mismo yeayy.. Then we went to Market!Market! and Glorietta, together with the cast of Glee and Happiness Ambassador to meet and greet also their friends and supporters.

This truly a momentous event that I will treasure my whole life, from cast of Glee who flow-in from US ,to the complete line-up of Happiness Ambassadors and of course to another Coca-Cola surprise - Coca-Cola Mismo 300ml which we can all purchase for only 10Php at your nearest store. The event was attended by the members of the media from TV, radio, print and online. The Glee casts were so excited to be here in our country also because they believe that Filipino fans are the best. Nowadays happenings around the metro is unstoppable, we never know what comes in and out the headlines and news buzz. Celebrity revelations, reality show big winners and Pinoy abroad prides are coming out like mushrooms, that are making us excited and wanting to have more and more every day. Ito Na recently, I heard big news that will make you and me happy for the coming days. Haven’t you notice also the YouTube masthead, even the number one video site, is counting down for another happenings on this event on June 8. 

Ito Na, my favorite musical TV show Glee and its four cast members like Dean Geyer, Jacob Artist, Becca Tobin and Melissa Benoist will be coming over to our country  for this big event. Together with them, is our famous teen artists of today and Coca Cola’s Happiness Ambassadors Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo, Enchong Dee and Joseph Marco. Ito Na, they will be revealing a biggest surprise that every Filipino deserve. It will all happen at three of the huge malls of Metro Manila such as Trinoma, Glorietta and of course the nearby mall at our apartment, the Market! Market! 

I knew this surprise from Coke will give us more happiness more than we experience every time we opened a can or a bottle of such beverage.
