Coco Martin As Juan Dela Cruz

On Monday February 4,the upcoming and newest hero on television will be seen, Coco Martin as Juan Dela Cruz will save people from aswang. A son of tagapagbantay Amelia (Mylene Dizon) and aswang Samuel (Albert Martinez), but grow up on the hands of a priest Father Cito ( Jaime Fabregas), because his mother died giving birth to him. His life will evolve in looking for his true identity,father, krus na bakal (metal cross which forms 4 weapons) and saving people. Along the way his heart will be at peace with an undercover aswang-hunter named Rosario (Erich Gonzales).

Recently, I attended a press conference with Juan Dela Cruz himself Coco Martin at Luxent Hotel in Timog Quezon City. Together with other press and online writers, we had our dinner first and get to know some of the individuals in the room.

The long wait is over and Coco came over with a cutest smile in the world hehe..Before he sat down for an interview or Q&A portion, he gave hugs and kisses to the press who accompanied him through the journey of his showbiz career. So sweet and adorable person, hoping someday I could have one hug also heheh...

He shared that his very happy for this unique role as Juan Dela Cruz and an opportunity to become more role model especially for younger generation because it will focus on faith in God, good individual, loving and caring hero. Likewise in partnership with Erich Gonzales is more of showing how you take care on the one you love "Erich as Rosario, excited akong makatrabaho sya kasi isa sya sa hinahangaan ko".

Coco Martin is more focus on his career right know and taking chances on mastering his craft while the pot is hot "Napakasaya ko po ngayon sa itinatakbo ng career ko, ang pamilya at trabaho ko po ang pinagtutuunan ko ng pansin sa ngayon, ang pag-ibig dadating po tayo dyan". "Madami po akong gustong mapasaya ng sobra ngayon lalo po ang lola ko na nagpalaki sa akin, mahal na mahal ko po sya". 

Moreover, Coco also ask what's his difference and similarities from Juan Dela Cruz and he says "Ordinaryong tao din po ako gaya ni Juan Dela Cruz na sinisimbolo ng bawat Filipino, kinopsento po ito ng creatives as ako pagkatao ko po, kasi sabi ko nga indi po ako perfect na tao indi din po sobrang sama pareho lang ni Juan na may tagapagbantay at aswang na side, siguro ang tanging difference is ung kinalakihan namin ako po sa Lola siya indi po sya lumaki sa family nya".

There's a lot of things Coco shared with us and one thing I learned and discovered about him that everning, he is a dedicated actor and a good person inside and out. I will definitely follow him on small screen and join him through the journey of good life, good faith and loving person.

Join Georgina Wilson and Popular Local Bands in ‘Ginuman Fest’ Davao

GINEBRA San Miguel’s 2013 calendar girl Georgina Wilson and popular local bands will headline the second stop of the “Ginuman Fest” in Davao City on Feb. 1 (Friday). Following the Tarlac City opener that drew a mammoth crowd of close to 12,000, Wilson will join on stage The Itchyworms, Callalily, Rocksteddy and dance sensation Jhong Hilario at the Damosa Market Basket Parking Area.

Wilson, Anne Curtis, Maja Salvador, Solenn Heusaff, Paulo Avelino and Dingdong Dantes are the GSMI brand ambassadors who will be gracing most of the “Ginuman Fest” legs nationwide. Aside from great music, spectators also stand a chance to win raffle prizes totaling P100,000 for each event leg. At the recent Tarlac opening event, housewife Rodelia D. Rivera, won the P50,000 grand prize.

“Ginebra really helped me and my family tremendously. I am very grateful and thankful to Ginebra San Miguel,” said Rivera, who plans to use the money to put up a small business.

AJINOMOTO Umami Culinary Challenge (UCC) 2013 Is On

This year the 4th AJINOMOTO® Umami Culinary Challenge (UCC) is on, with 450 HRM and Nutrition students from 43 universities and colleges in Metro Manila and nearby provinces join and will show their skills and mastery in cooking and come up with the best umami taste. The annual much-awaited event will be held on February 2, 2013 at Hall 2 SMX Convention Center.

As to previous years of Ajinomoto Philippines' UCC, the focus of the competition is in umami, the 5th basic taste together with sweet, sour, bitter and salty. Project Head of UCC Chef Russell Bautista said  "We want more aspiring chefs to discover how deep understanding of umami effectively develop their skills to attain culinary excellence”.

There would be (5) competition categories: 1) Umami Bento Meal, 2) Healthy Asian Umami Dish, 3) Best Filipino Umami Dish, 4) My own Umami Creation and 5) Umami Potter. Criteria for selecting the winning dishes are intensity of umami taste, culinary technique and creativity, dish preparation, plate presentation and Eat Well, Live Well.® Cooking, which refers to the integration of culinary skills and nutrition knowledge to create a delicious and nourishing umami dish.

UCC Judges includes culinary luminaries like Chef Seiji Kamura (Executive Chef Mana Clinary Fusion), Chef Joey Herrera (ISCAHM Chef), Chef Ed Quimson (Chef Patron M Catering & Fine Foods), Chef Eugene Raymundo (Food stylist, part owner of Five Cows Restaurant and Kitch Café), Chef Babes Austria (Executive Chef, Taal Vista Hotel Tagaytay), and more.

"Apoy Sa Dagat" Starting on February 11 in Primetime Bida

Starting Monday, February 11, 2013, the line-up of ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida will become more hot and fierce with the newest primetime drama series "Apoy Sa Dagat". Starred  by Diether Ocampo, Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban.

The story is about women named Serena and Rebacca both played by Angelica. Who grew up with different status in life and forms a special bond with Ruben (Piolo) and Anton (Diether) respectively. 

Recently they had a press conference held at Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN compound and attended by the complete casts of the drama series including Angel Aquino, Perla Bautista, Liza Lorena, Freddie Webb, Regine Angeles and Bryan Santos. The series also featuring Aiko Melendez, Sylvia Sanchez, Melai Cantiveros, Eric Fructuoso and Mikaila Ramirez. with the special participation of Patrick Garcia, Empress and Nikki Gil.

The directors Nick Olanka and FM Reyes was also present and shared that they worked night and day to make the scenes perfect for the viewers. They also shared the professionalism Angelica has and the other actors. Angelica said she was so grateful to have a character this like and it is a challenge that she must overcome as the series go on. Though it is not their first time to work (Angelica and Piolo) but they shared that they are so excited for this teleserye even more.

Coco Martin For Max's Restaurant

The newest family member of Max's Restaurant is ABS-CBN's Juan DeLa Cruz himself Mr. Coco Martin. One of my favorite actors with unique talent in terms of acting especially in the series "Walang Hanggan" which was finished last year. But I heard so many projects that he's doing right now like a movie with Julia Montes and a TV series Juan DeLa Cruz. A determine and focus in work is the values that Max's Restaurant found in Coco for him to become their newest endorser.

Recently, I, together with the other online writers, press and photographers was invited to an event and for us to have an opportunity to meet Coco Martin at Max's Restaurant Sct. Tuazon St. Quezon City.After munching on a sumptuous lunch like chicken,pancit and other delicious food of Max's, the Max's Restaurant Marketing Director Edgar Allan Caper welcomed us while waiting for Coco, "We chose Coco because we see a great connection between Max's and Coco, from the day we starting with hope and perseverance up to now that continually humble and do better for the sake of everybody" Caper said.

The moment we are waiting for, has arrived and Coco showed up with smile on his face every time he answers a particular question. "I feel so happy and blessed, because Max's welcome me in their family, kasi po nag-trabaho po ako sa Max's Restaurant Fairview pero hindi nag-tagal kasi naging busy na po sa studies and showbiz auditions, now I have a chance to be with them na mas matagal" Coco said with cute smile.

We also had a chance to watch the behind the scenes of their latest TVC and were also informed that they made not just one, not two but three TVC for all of us, so watch out for the other two TVC this coming months. Director Brillante Mendoza made the said commercials so except of more heart, simplicity and emotions into it.

New Child Wonders of ABS-CBN at "May Isang Pangarap"

The newest ABS-CBN's drama series "May Isang Pangarap" starred Larah Claire Sabroso and Julia Klarisse Base from Davao City and Manila respectively. Both discovered from the network's nationwide talent search "Kapamilya Little Star", Larah and Julia is both eight-years-old who dreamed to become a kapamilya talent and achieved it through determination and perseverance.

Similarly the teleserye will show the children talent with the help their mother portrayed by Carmina Villaroel and Vina Morales. Also the series introduces the vocalist of the band Rivermaya - Rico Blanco. Their life will   revolve around their dream of stardom and it will supplement with the kept secret that will change everything.

Press conference was held last week at Teatrino Greenhills and all the casts and production team are present to support the said presscon. Carmina and Vina revealed that the two (Larah&Julia) had a big transformation in terms of acting as they taped almost everyday. Larah from Davao City with six siblings cried as she shared her family situation and promise to help her family. Julia shared that her mother is pregnant with the third child in their family and very happy to be included in the new series. 

Also featured in the teleserye are Erin Ocampo, Dominique Roque, Bembol Roco, Sharmaine Buencamino,Dennis Padilla, Gloria Diaz, Valerie Conception, and Ron Morales under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng.

The ABS-CBN’s newest heartwarming tale that will bring smiles and love to your day will be seen this January 2013, featuring the Breakthrough Actor Paulo Avelino, the Romantic-Comedy Heartthrob Sam Bilby and the of course the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs Ms Angeline Quinto in a newest romantic-comedy series “Kahit Konting Pagtingin” directed by Darnel Villaflor.

Recently, Lance (Paulo), Adam (Sam) and Aurora (Angeline) had a press conference for the said series at Mom & Tina’s Bakery Café in Quezon City. The afternoon was full of enjoyment specially when Angeline started to tell the friendship that she had with Sam “Pumupunta po kami sa bahay nya at nag su-swimming” and with Paulo “Tahimik po sya na tao, palagi lang ganyan, walang kibo heheh..”.

They shared that the series is a tale of one woman (Aurora) who choose to work hard for her family at the same time how she finds her one true love. Is it Lance? Or Adam? Who will it be?.

Someone asked Angeline if she’s ready to have a love-life and said “Opo ready naman po ako nag-hihintay naman po ako kung sinon yun eh pero wala po talaga nanliligaw sa showbiz, saka hindi po ako masyado ligawin at kung meron man ang gusto kop o kasi doctor o kaya accountant”. So if you are looking for an Angeline type of girl and you’re a doctor or an accountant, go for it, you never know and I find Angeline so “kalog” also, with the way she speak and act, I think she will make me laugh the whole conversation hehe…

Revelations and Confrontations In "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" Book II

The much awaited revelation of Celyn’s real parents will be seen on Monday January 14, 2013 at ABS-CBN’s top caliber family drama series on small screen “Ina, Kapatid, Anak”. As the series continues the story, they are also soaring high and holding the top TV ratings nationwide.

Last Tuesday January 8, I have a chance to cover the press conference of book 2 launch at Luxent Hotel Quezon City. Me together with other entertainment media, press and bloggers were so happy to see the complete casts of the TV series, especially me , who were seated at the front raw hehe. From Eddie Guttieez, Pilar Pilapil, Janice De Belen, Cherry Pie Picache, Enchong Dee, Xian Lim, Maja Salvador and Kim Chui with the directors Jojo Saguin and Don Cuaresma and of course the newest member which will add into the spice of the series, the  2012 Cinema One Originals best actor Alex Medina.

The casts were introduced one by one and Janice said “We were so glad and happy for your continues support para sa aming programa, abangan nyo po ang mga susunod pang kaabang-abang na pangyayari”. Though Julio (Ariel Rivera) was not there, the rival sisters Teresa (Cherry) and Beatrice (Janice), “Ipaglalaban naming ang kanya-kanyang karapatan naming para sa pagmamahal at kaligayahan, kaya abangan nyo ang mangyayari sa Monday” Cherry Pie said.

This one thing Kim said that made me giggle that night when she ask about the status of her and Xian “Ngayon masaya ako, kasi alam kong nirerespeto ako bilang tao o babae, ang maganda kasi sa’min ni Xian, komportableng komportable na kami sa isa’t isa at hindi lang ako ang nirerespect nya pati lalo ang pamilya ko” Kim said. She also added that the confrontation scene which will be shown on Monday is a 3-page script that she kept in her pocket the whole day to prepare and be ready.

After the good food and happy Q&A, the casts also gave gadgets, watches and cast for the raffle that given to the lucky individuals that night. Thank you so much because, it really did added to the happy new year of the press.

So WE should not miss this episode on Monday and I’m sure the teaser that the series introducing on TV is not even half of what will happen on Monday. Park Shin Hye In Manila 2013

Park Shin Hye is best known for her starring roles in the popular Koreanovelas HE’S BEAUTIFUL (also known as YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL) starring opposite Jang Geun Suk and HEART STRINGS starring opposite Jung Yong Hwa of CN Blue.  Both dramas were shown locally through ABS-CBN.

Now, Behind The Scenes and Fangirl Asia will be bringing to Manila the popular Korean actress Park Shin Hye for a fan meeting on March 16, 2013.  The event will be held at the Star Theater, CCP Complex at 6:00pm.

Miss Park, 22 years old, has been active in the entertainment industry since 2003.  She will be celebrating her 10^th year in the industry next year and she wants to celebrate this by going on an Asian tour to meet her fans where the Philippines would be one of her stops.

Park Shin Hye will be the first Korean actress to hold a fan meeting in Manila and her fans called Starlight Angels have expressed excitement through various social media.  Unknown to many, Miss Park is multi-talented and has trained in both singing and dancing since she was 13 years old.  She is also a sough after model for magazines and has endorsed popular products such as Mac Comestics and Pepero Snacks.  She has received numerous awards for her work and most recently won Popular Actress in a Drama at the 2012 Baeksang Arts Award for Heartstrings. 

Park Shin Hye will be back in the small screen this January 2013 for TVN’s new drama My Flower Boy Neighbor opposite Yoon Shi-Yoon (Baker King).

Last time,  I shared my experience watching ABS-CBN's Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV) when the "Sisterakas" cast visited the show (HERE) and another famous love-team was there also. This time, i want to share my experience watching said love team and my reaction to the preview of what happened on their guesting on GGV, which will be shown later this evening.

The love team I am talking about is none other than that of Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta, who also have been real-life sweethearts in the 90's. Together, they made movies that captured the hearts of their fans and movie buffs nationwide. Now, Richard and Dawn each have their own married life, but they are still welcomed by viewers as romantic partners, this time, on the small screen.

Proof of this is their stint on one of the most famous teleseryes ever to hit Philippine television. After almost a decade, Richard and Dawn reunited as partners through the successful primetime teleserye "Walang Hanggan". Once again, their chemistry brought back to life the love team that once made millions giggle with delight. In fact, their team-up can compete with the popular (and younger) love-teams we have today.

I was given the wonderful opportunity to watch the taping of their guesting on GGV, together with other online writers or bloggers.The studio was full of Richard-Dawn (CharDawn) supporters, who obviously got ecstatic when the names of their idols were called.

At first, the whole audience was relatively tame, but when Richard and Dawn took to their designated seats and started to talk, the ChardDawn fans shrieked like crazy teens and started getting wild. Their excitement was pretty much infectious that i found myself cheering with the crowd as well.(Kinilig din ako, no?!)

In all, the show was so much fun that every one of us had a great time. Since its a Vice Ganda show, no one got home without new trivia and tidbits, secrets and revelations about celebrities. And with Vice Ganda as host, i laughed my heart out and went home from the studio with a permanent grin on my mouth.

This Sunday, don't forget to watch GGV.  Expect more secrets of CharDawn that will be revealed on the show and catch a glimpse of those never- before- seen photos, gifts, and of course, words that come from the hearts . Don't miss that portion when Dawn shows some of the dance steps that Julia Montes taught her and when Richard does that "i-Dawn Zulueta Mo Ako" thing. CHINESE ZODIAC (CZ12) Starring Jackie Chan Showing On January 30, 2013

Jackie Chan is one of my favorite actors, because he's so funny and skillful in terms of stunts especially in the movies he made. Moreover, he has a lot of charitable institution built and support. I always make sure to watch his movie every time there is or watching You Tube videos of his guesting and interviews because he really makes me smile with his witty humor.

This year, a movie has been finished and ready to view on January 30, 2013 in our country - Chinese Zodiac. So get ready for that, I am sure its another exciting, funny and amazing movie that will be distributed by Star Cinema, its the first foreign movie that Star Cinema distributed in our country, so except the best.

Globe-trotting soldier-of-fortune JC is hired by shady antiques dealers to track down six missing bronze animal-heads by any means necessary. The six bronzes originally formed part of a set of twelve, representing the animals of the Chinese Zodiac, forming part of a fountain in the old Summer Palace outside Beijing; they were looted and dispersed when Anglo-French armies sacked the Summer Palace in 1860. JC and his crack team of assistants first head to France, where two of the bronzes are believed to be held in a private collection. The operation to ‘liberate’ the bronzes from a heavily guarded Chateau brings JC into an uneasy alliance with Coco, a Chinese student in Paris, who is active in a global movement which campaigns for stolen cultural treasures to be returned to their homelands. Along the way, JC makes an enemy-for-life of Pierre, the chief of staff at the Chateau Marceau, and an unexpected friend of Katherine, a bankrupted aristocrat whose home contains another of the missing bronzes. The trail next leads JC and his team, now including Coco and Katherine, to a forgotten tropical island in the South Seas, where two missing animal heads are found in a beached wreck. A multi-national band of pirates moves to block the team’s getaway, but JC’s skill and resourcefulness wins the day. Back home, JC is stunned to learn that his employers already had the sixth missing bronze all along, and he sets out to teach them a lesson for tricking him. Meanwhile the protest movement has persuaded buyers to shun auctions of stolen national treasures, and the shady dealers are threatening to destroy the sixth bronze in public. Will JC’s conscience – and his sense of Chinese national pride – kick in to push him to save the last bronze from destruction?
