Move To The Vibe Of Glorietta

November 29, 2012 Manila Philippines beat the current (Istanbul Turkey- 1,967) world record of number of people  walking in a catwalk by exactly having 2, 255 models in a catwalk. This is made possible by  Ayala Mall-Glorietta, pwered by AVA.com.ph and Tatoo Black through an event "Move To The Vibe of Glorietta" which was held at the soon to be reopening of the New Glorietta - Palm Drive.

The event was witnessed by people in all walks of life gathered together to support the models walking at the catwalk. Hosted by Billy Crawford and Bianca Gonzales, the momentous event was grace by great artist like the international sensation, Kyle Patrick and our very own rock star, Bamboo.

The models owned the catwalk with clothes and items from the merchants that can be found in the Glorietta mall. We also saw familiar faces, like fashion bloggers and mommy bloggers that we are all proud of. We seated at the other side of the stage where they walk but, I can really see the determination to beat the record. I am excited also because the clothes, bags and accessories that they used are beautiful and they are all available at Glorietta. I think, I know where to go and hit for a Christmas shopping **winks**.

The Guiness' World Record's representative Kirsty Bennet was also present to evaluate and validate the qualified numbers of models. We are all so proud when Ms. Bennet announced the new Guiness World Record holder yeayy.. we did it. Congratulations Glorietta Mall, AVA and models. You did a great job :)).

Villar Foundations Brings Blessings to More OFWs Record Turnout at the 2nd OFW & Family Summit

On its second year, the OFW and Family Summit of the Villar Foundation and GoNegosyo once again attracted record number of participants. Overseas Filipino workers (OFW) returnees as well as their families once again trooped to the World Trade Center in Pasay City in full force for the one-day summit on November 22.

Senator Manny Villar and Cynthia Villar—Chairman and Managing Director, respectively, of the Villar Foundation—  joined by a representative of Pasay City Mayor Antonio Calixto, GoNegosyo’s founding trustee Joey Conception and Executive Director Ramon Lopez led the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Concepcion and Mrs. Villar led the lineup of speakers and resource persons. The Former Las Pinas Representative emphasized the important role and contribution of OFWs in the country in her speech as she encouraged OFWs and their beneficiaries to handle their salaries and the remittances they receive very well by looking for business opportunities.

“We want to remind OFWs and help their families understand that handling their finances or  salaries well is very important, so whatever they have worked hard for will not go to waste. It is even better if they can make their earnings from abroad grow through proper investment such as venturing into a business of their own” cited Mrs. Villar, now fondly called Misis Hanep Buhay because of all the livelihood projects she started with the Villar Foundation.

The OFWs sat down and listened attentively to all the speakers and resource persons invited for the event, each of whom gave not only tips and information but also encouragement and inspiration to OFWs about starting their own businesses, overcoming challenges and even about life in general.

“Tagumpay Forum”, which delves on the challenges and triumphs by OFWs turned entrepreneurs, who have persevered, passionately believing they can succeed, was among the highlights of the event. Former OFWs  Mike Casas, Annie Sitjar and Cherry Yack shared their experiences and the challenges they faced before becoming successful in their chosen businesses. Casas has embarked on bottled sardines while Sitjar and Yack  ventured into a poultry business.

“Starting small, they’re now making good money while enjoying life with their loved ones in the country. And so, there’s  no need for them to work abroad, and this is what the Villar Foundation together with GoNegosyo have been espousing, giving our OFWs and their families an option to earn a living,” noted Villar.

And many more lives were changed and blessed that Thurday with the raffle prizes that were given away. These are no ordinary prizes, most of which are livelihood packages, so the winners can start their own small business right away after the event. These include motorcycle units that can be converted into tricycles from Motortrade; sari-sari stores packages from Aling Puring of Puregold and Finds Convenience Store, Kettle Corn franchise from RFM Corp., items from Markina Shoe Expo; SIM cards from Smart; dealership/membership kits from Fern-C; and of course, the much-awaited brand new house and lot from Camella Homes.

Russel Nalayog, a seaman from Greece, was the very lucky winner of the house and lot. He could not contain his happiness and gratitude for the Villar family for the huge blessing he received. Last year’s winner Foresa Morada (wife of an OFW in Saudi Arabia), who was part of the audience, could of course relate to Russel’s emotions.

Indeed, the OFW & Family Summit was not only a success in terms of turnout, it is an even bigger success because it makes a difference in the lives of our dear OFWs—they learn, they get inspired and they win. The third one next year will surely be another summit to remember!

Refresh Your Day with ChaLife Milk Tea

Finally after almost a month of not having my "me" time, ChaLife a comfort drink that fits your lifestyle, invited bloggers for some pampering time at Nail It at Rockwell Business Center, Ortigas City.

While waiting for my turn, I taste a glass of ChaLife Milk Tea and I like it, coming from a milk tea and coffee person like me, I do like its taste. A powdered drink mix with a natural sweetness and taste that will refresh and relax you the right way, because of its smooth and aromatic blend of milk and tea flavors. You will enjoyed it hot or cold, but I prefer cold of course.

Then the time came for me to own the Nail It most comfortable lazy boy and got some foot spa with massage. I just love the ambiance of the place and the aromatic smell of the spa area. I also love the color inside and therapists smile.

What a stress-free finale for a day, thank you so much ChaLife Milk Tea and Nail It.. I really had a confortable mind and body by drinking ChaLife !! See what I mean by purchasing ChaLife at Landmark, Waltermart and 7-11 outlets for only 7.50 per sachet.

Bloggers Food Tour at Marquee Mall

I once read that 'there is no sincerer love than the love of food' if you've met me, you know what I mean :), but seriously, sometimes when I feel down and stress from factors affecting the stability of my mind, I run into the comfort of food. That's why when I was invited for a food trip at Marquee Mall, I never waste a second to respond immediately.

November 17, 2012 Saturday was one of the memorable days of my life because I didn't do nothing but to eat, laugh and take photo which is my three favorite things to do.

Almost an hour drive from Manila we reach Marquee Mall at Angeles City, Pampanga. It is my first time to visit the mall and I have a comfort feeling, maybe because it is an Ayala Land Inc property also. The designs and interior of the mall is like Market! Market! which is my resident mall due walking distance from our home. Zaya and Trisha welcome us, as we arrived at the area and gave a short talk about Marquee Mall and what will happen in the next few hours of our stay.

Then we started our food tour at T.G.I.Fridays, one of 17 food establishments that we visited that day. So are you ready to eat? or travel the foody way? hehe..So let's begin.

We tried the T.G.I.Friday's famous Baby Back Ribs and Boneless Buffalo Bites. The latter have a right mixed of chili on it but have it dip and woolaa.. I also like how they cook the Baby Back Ribs, it so tender as it melts into your mouth once its there.

I love Japanese foods, because of its simplicity and ready to bite pieces that's why when Red Kimono is our second stop, I giggle hehe..We tried their new Crispy Prawn and Dilis Maki, yes its Dilis on top of it, what a bright idea huh. Okonomiyaki mixed of veggies, Chiken Teriyaki, Classic Milk Tea and their very own Red Kimochi..

How about an instead Fiesta? Yes all of us felt that way when we enter the Seafood Island restaurant. Sizzling Plate Overload was waiting for us, packed with lechon manok, bagnet, tortang talong,  bbq, prawns and more for only 1,888Php with free pitcher of ice tea. A food party good for 12 or 15 i think.

For our fourth stop, we went over to Italliani's and the Chef personally explained the Country Classic (grilled chicken, marinara pasta, tender boneless shortplate) and Farmers Feast (braised baby back ribs, roasted chicken and Aglio Olio) package meal that we tried which is good for 3-5 persons. I like Italliani's, because I like how they cook pasta perfectly and the ambience of the restaurant is so classic.

Apag Marangle Restaurant is the exciting part of our tour, hear we eat native dishes like Humba, their own version of Paella with bagnet on top and the exotic ones like fried frogs and crickets or Camaru. I tried to eat fried frog at Binondo, but I haven't tried a Camaru, since its my first time and can imagine how they crawl. But I saw Flow, eating it like a popcorn so I successfully ate one hehe..Its not but at all especially when you dip it in vinegar first. So if you want to explore Pampanga through food, visit Apag Marangle.

Pizza Hut's our next stop and we tried the one in the commercial right now, the Parmesan Cheesy Crust Pizza and when they say cheesyyy...it is. Cheeze lover here, that's why I am the one still kicking and eating the whole one slice of it. They also prepared the Spaghetti Bolognese with Meatballs, Aglio Olio and Mango Shrimp Salad.

Another Japanese restaurant in the mall is SumoSam and they know how big my smile is hehe..Though I really like the ones they prepared but I really am full from the previous food establishments that we had. I only ate one Las Vegas Roll which taste so good, a pasta strip both for Japanese Carbonara and Seafood  Yakisoba.

Classic Savory is up next with their delicious Roast Chicken, Lomi and Pancit Canton. They will also chopped the chicken for you. But this time my appetite surrender due food overload hehe..My mouth is looking for something sweet and also caffeine hehe..

Gilingan's Sizzling Pork Sisig, Kare-Kareng Gulay and Fried Garlic Chicken is the ones we had at our last restaurant. We still do like the taste of food despite fullness especially the sisig.

Finally our next dessert stop is at Nathaniel's, which offers Puto-pao, Mochi with red beans and their very own Buko Pandan Salad. I like their version of Mochi especially when we dip it at coconut milk. Buko Pandan was great, the sweetness is enough for you to crave for it more and more.

Kabigtig's Halo-Halo is the best halo-halo aside from Razon's, I've ever tried. The unique about this halo-halo is that they used pastillas as swettener and the ice is so fine..They also gave us Pancit Palabok for a treat.

If you like kutkutin's Honey & Daisy's Pastries is right for you from pulboron, pastillas and barkillos name it they got it at a kiosk located, i think south wing of the mall.

Auntie Anne's Pretzels are so love especially when we dipped it at chocolate and caramel. You can try it also with cheese and almond.

They also have here the Carreon's Sweets and Pastries which offers various kind of pastries that you could take home for you and your family.

Dakasi, a milk tea store with other 400 units worldwide. They gave us the best sellers and I took home Blueberry Milk tea whihc perfect for my midnight snack hehe..

Dessert time is not complete without an ice cream,  Fruits In Ice Cream is the best ice cream in town so we tried the Banoffee and Strawberry Cheesecake and I think that Banoffee sundae is perfect, for a coffee addict like me.

For the finale of our food trip is the Coco Fresco located at second floor of the mall. The buko shake is my companion going home.

'I am not glutton- I am an explorer of food', Now I can tell what the phrase means and I will remember this experience for the rest of my life. We had fun and travelled the world food from Italy, Japan, China and Philippines.

Thank you so much Marquee Mall and MNL-MRM, I will definitely come back soon...
