Recently I had an opportunity to try their services, together with my co-bloggers at Going Straight Salon North EDSA branch. The place was spacious and homey, the two chandelier added more sophistication within. The branch has a mezzanin which facilitates customers specially the ones with manicure, pedicure and foot & hand paraffin wax and other hair treatment.

Going Straight 25 Anniversary Pampering Treat (Blogger's Event) Committee:July dela Cruz (Marketing Officer), Nancy Lintag (Area Manager - Central Area ), Beng David (Area Manager - North Area) and Jhong Medina ( M.I.S Manager and Committee Head)

At first bloggers were welcomed by Mr. Jhong Medina the M.I.S. Manager and Committee Head and introduced Ms. Nancy Lintag the Central Area Manager and discussed the history of  the business and the mission and vision of their company. Started with a branch in Makati Cinema Square until it appreciated by satisfied customers and by word of mouth encouraged them to expand and develop to give more services for everybody. They also given numerous awards and recognition by prestigious award giving bodies and helping to save the earth by having the "Save the Mother Earth" project which encourage GS customers to refill the empty GS shampoo and conditioner bottles instead of buying new ones.

Then the pampering begins, all of us was asked what we wanted and try services or treatment. So we never waste a second of saying them one by one heheh...From head to foot they ask and we told them right away. For me I wanted all my nails done with spa and paraffin wax then for my hair, since its been a year...yes a year when i had it, colored and cellophane, so i beg them to do it for me heheh...

During the treatment, i feel like a princess with all the smoothness and colors of my nails hayz..I wouldn't ask for more. After which I am so excited with my hair treatment, they also have a consultant for your hair and examining them on whats the exact treatment or hair color is right for you. And tadah heres the before and after of it..what do you think?

I really enjoyed my experience here and thank you so much Going Straight Salon, I will definitely go back soon specially now, that I have my privileged card and coupons that I can use in any branch nationwide. Nature Republic in the Philippines :))

Early morning of November 11, 2011 (11-11-11), I made sure that I will be more productive than the usual day. I woke up around 7am to prepare for an event that will take us blogger as far as SM Fairview.  I couldn't say no because it was an opening of Nature Republic, one of the famous Korean line of cosmetics and Jang Geun Suk or Sukkie for eels is one of their endorsers. The latter makes me more agitated for this event...

From Makati we fetch by a van going to the venue as we arrived around 10:30 exact time for the opening of the store. Started with a prayer for the successful future of the branch. Then the ribbon cutting was facilitated by Ms. Majorie Lee and Mr.Tad Huang. As we enter the well lighted store, it was so spacious, i think they anticipated the number of people that will visit them everyday. I like the way they group the items according to needs like skin care, hair care etc. The majority color of greens surrounds the area that reminds me of nature and organic that the products possess.Followed by the press and blogger briefing before we shop with a discount of course hehe...

Then the fun begins....I started from BB Cream area and learned that they have variety of it that you can choose from..

Nowadays men also concern with their skin and Nature Republic also have a corner for them, that definitely a must have specially for those who wants to have a soothing and glowing skin.

Nail polish that you can have fun in colors and be sophisticated at the same way for as low as 65Php, they also have one, if you really want it to last for a long time with a reasonable price.

An eye liner is a must have for a small and chinita eyes I have.

Try one of their 'BEST 7' for you to accomplish that healthy and glowing skin. Purchase items and you'll also have an opportunity to choose a free items for you to enjoy and most specially own a limited  Jang Geun Suk edition items.
.

Costumers are started to line-up and all are excited to go home and use the items immediately specially me hehe..

You really feel like in nature when your inside the store from products to design and the ingredients they put together in one concept. We enjoyed our trip to SM Fairview and be with nature at Nature Republic.

For more details and information about the store like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. They also have a branch at Festival Mall and SM City EDSA.

THE GOLDILOCKS BAKEBOOK

From birthday, wedding, baptism, graduation, anniversary, or just about any get-together, Goldilocks has been our companion by each celebration a true Filipino icon that is serving perfectly through years,  espousing a uniquely Filipino passion for delightful sharing and thoughtful giving through good food.In celebration of 45 Goldilicious years, Goldilocks writes a new chapter in its storied legacy – honoring its past while establishing a heritage for the future – through the Goldilocks Bakebook.

The launch of the said Goldilocks Bakebook happened at the Atrium of Glorietta 5 last Thursday November 10. The event was attended by the people behind the Philippine's number one bakeshop, media, bloggers, friends and supporters. It was hosted by Ms. Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan which introduced sisters Milagros and Clarita, and their sister-in-law, Doris who shared a passion for baking, cake-decorating and cooking and opened the  first Goldilocks store along Pasong Tamo, Makati in May 1966. The two sisters pursued the same passion towards perfection, by carefully developing each Goldilocks recipe, and by building the company to what it is today.

Goldilocks Bakebook is a collection of 108 recipes, 211 pages of eye-catching photos, and an overview of the company’s begginings. The bakebook took 7 years in the making, endless kitchen-testing, and the invaluable effort and dedication of a hardworking team in order to pass on a  priceless legacy to loyal Goldilocks consumers and followers.  Freddie Go, Sr., Chairman of the Board of Goldilocks, envisioned and began the groundwork for this fitting tribute to Mrs. Milagros Yee and Mrs. Clarita Go. These two women have tirelessly and relentlessly pursued the perfection of each Goldilocks product, much to the delight of their loyal customers.

Goldilocks will surely be a part of my life through special occasions and celebrations specially now, that the recipe book or coffeetable book is here giving a unique recipe in itself, a product of love, devotion  and gratitude also for millions of Filipinos who have made Goldilocks a part of their lives. The Goldilocks Bakebook by Milagros Leelin-Yee and Clarita Leelin-Go (with Food Styling done by Chef Heny Sison and Food Photography done by Neal Oshima) is available in all National Bookstore branches, and select Goldilocks outlets.

Boracay Celebrates Gains in Beach Management Program

The Boracay Beach Management Program (BBMP), a multi-sectoral initiative for the protection, sustainability and enhancement of the island's coastal and marine resources, celebrated its first anniversary last 24 September 2011, with an impressive list of accomplishments in seven priority areas.Following a comprehensive strategy, Malay Mayor John P. Yap recognized the importance of dynamic public-private partnership in achieving tangible improvements after just one year of program implementation.

The Boracay Beach Management Council (BBMC) rallied under the call to action, "Para Sa Boracay Ako! For Boracay I Will...", and reported the following achievements:Local Governance.  With strong leadership and political will, Malay Mayor John P. Yap has pushed for the implementation of the BBMP priority programs. Visitors and residents are reminded to observe municipal ordinances against littering, smoking, extracting sand and pebbles, etc.

Coastal Resources. Regular beach and underwater clean-up drives have been performed by various volunteer groups. Coastal nurseries supply new corals that are transplanted in degraded reef areas.  Artificial reef domes, deployed in strategic areas, have encouraged the reemergence of new coral species and provide excellent breeding grounds for many fish varieties.  Mangrove growth has been closely monitored.
Watershed. A comprehensive reforestation plan for 260-hectares is in place.  For 2011, the target is to reforest 63-hectares with 30,000 seedlings produced from the seedling nursery. During the anniversary celebrations, Mayor Yap launched the Adopt-A-Tree program and distributed some 3,000 seedlings to Boracay students and foresters to be planted in their backyards and school grounds.
Water and Waste Water.  Access to potable water has reached 96% of households, and the sewage treatment plant has been upgraded for environmentally compliant waste water effluent quality.
Solid Waste. New equipment and upgraded facilities have made garbage collection and processing more effective.

Hazard Protection.  A Philippine National Red Cross office is now present in Boracay, and emergency response capabilities have been enhanced with trained personnel, new sea patrol craft and upgraded communications equipment. With its previous experience in the United Nations Development Programme's Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) framework, Petron played a key role in facilitating the formation of the BBMP.  Starting out with a handful of members from the local government units, national government agencies, community organizations, youth groups and the private sector, the Boracay Beach Management Council (BBMC) now counts about 30 proponents.

These include:  The Municipality of Malay, Aklan; San Miguel Corporation; Petron Corporation; Petron Foundation Inc.; Provincial Government of Aklan; Department of Environment & Natural Resources; Boracay Foundation Inc.; Akelco Boracay; Aklan Provincial Tourism Council; Barangays Balabag, Caticlan, Kabulihan, Manoc-Manoc & Yapak; Boracay Association of Sucba Diving Schools; Boracay Island Hopping Association; Boracay Island Water Company; Boracay Island Special Fire Protection Unit; Boracay Land Transportation Multi-Purpose Cooperative; Boracay Solid Waste Management Team; Boracay Special Tourist Police Office; Boracay Yuppies; Coast Guard Detachment-Boracay; Department of Tourism-Boracay; Islander Boracay; Kiwanis Club of Boracay; Lifeguard Boracay; Malay Auxiliary Police; Malay Farm-C; Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI)-Boracay; Rotary Club of Boracay; YES FM 91.1; 605th MARPSTA (Maritime Police); and 61st 1B 31D PA Task Force Boracay.
