DepEd-Magnolia Launch “Healthy Drink Choices”

Recently, the Department of Education (DepEd) and San Miguel Corporation’s Magnolia Healthy Beverages launched the “Healthy Drink Choices” advocacy project at the Chateau 1771 in El Pueblo, Pasig City. The event was attended by DepEd Undersecretary Yolanda Quijano, Magnolia Health Beverage’s top executive Bernard Marquez,  Magnolia Healthy Beverages’ Executive Assistant Jun Medrano, Sales Manager Manny Factor, Group Product Manager Cecille Caling, Mary Lindbert International’s CEO Erlinda Legaspi, Albert Rosal, media and bloggers.


The joint campaign aims to produce inspiring elementary school activity books and interactive modules enable to help school teachers put the value and benefits of choosing a healthy drinks among students.  These books shall be given away free initially to over 200,000 children from selected schools from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.


DepEd Undersecretary Yolanda Quijano says “It’s an honor for the Department of Education to be given this wonderful gift from Magnolia Healthy Beverages because we don’t have such kinds of materials and we understand that our children really need to develop this kind of healthy drink choices at an early age.”

Moreover, Magnolia Health Beverage’s top executive Bernard Marquez thanked the Department of Education for this partnership and says “We’re glad to be part of the curriculum that promotes health and wellness among children in our school system as our way of giving back to the community.  There are a lot of advocacies and programs on healthy food choices,” he remarked.  “And we think it’s already time we also advocate healthy drink choices such as juices and teas that are rich in nutrients and minerals essential for a growing child because drink is as important as food.”


The “Healthy Drink Choices” project is part of 'Magnolia Healthy Beverages' over all thrust of promoting a healthy mind and body among the youth in our country. And now, San Miguel Corporation launched its line of affordable and ready-to-drink Magnolia teas and juices to give children and health-conscious consumers in general with a nutritious alternative.  These products are packed with vitamins C, B1, B2, B6, and B9 and low in sugar.

Christian Bautista's 'OUTBOUND' Album



Since ABS-CBN's Star In A Million show, I've always like Christian Bautista until now that he established himself into filed of the music and recording. Recently 'The Kichen Musical' also aired in Studio 23 and I really liked him more because he is molded into total performer. One of his songs that makes my day when I was ... is 'Colour Everywhere' i love that song. He is one of the reasons why I am looking forward every week for the variety show ASAP.


Now that he gained popularity in Asia, the Asiansation is set to release his very first international album 'OUTBOUND' via Universal Records. The recordings of this album is done outside the country in collaborations with artists and producers from United States, Korea, Japan, Singapore and Indonesia. I learned that the first single of this album entitled 'All That's Left' is composed by Tat Tong and includes Alodia Gosiengfiao in the music video.

Tat Tong is the producer, arranger and songwriter of more than 20 Top 10 and five #1-charting hits in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and mainland China. He gained platinum and won accolades from artists and critics like last April 2011 from Global Chinese Music Awards.


OUTBOUND album includes George Michael's 'Faith' which is his first big solo in The Kitchen Musical. He dances and moves very well because he also performed it at the press launch.Original songs like 'Unphotographable' and 'What Can I Do' is masterpieces of Tat Tong.


Japan's biggest independent recording company Avex Trax featuring Baby M and Christian duet 'Sakura' will be released in countries like Japan, South Africa, further establishing Christian's stature as an international artist. A very fine lady which possess a great voice and loves the Philippines.

Join Women Connect: W2W Women to Women Mentoring Summit on November 8




Women's Business Council of the Philippines President Pacita Juan (Chit)  invited media for a morning of wellness and relaxation talks and  upcoming women connect event last Monday October 14 at the Le Bistro Vert in Makati City. It was hosted by Ms. Chit, welcomes us with open arms and introduces the empowered women in the house.




Firstly, the Nurture Spa wellness program by Cathy Turvil who teach us about proper breathing and awareness through environment we live on. The Nurture Spa also gave us a chance to try their massage therapy and it was so good. Secondly, a demo of Pranayama for yoga by Jeannie Javelosa which also teach us how to manipulate our breathing in order to have an age defying way. Then food demo by Reena Francisco, she made a Humus and Tapenade which yum...




After a sumptuous and healthy meal, Ms. Chit introduces the Women Connect Summit which will happen on the 8th of November at the Philipppine Trade and Training Center called "WOMEN CONNECT:W2W Women to Women Mentoring Summit". This is a whole day event where you can meet many inpiring women and get familiar with other women entrepreneurs, other women-led businee so you too can get ideas on how to get started.




"We hope to inspire many more women to get into business or to find a career they wish to shift to and we have many women leaders in usually male-dominated fields like IT and Innovation, Automotive Industry and also services like Law and Outsourcing" says Ms. Chit.

Petron Offers Free Safety Checks, Special Treats for Undas Travelers

Petron Lakbay Alalay, the country's longest running motorist assistance program, is once again ensuring that Filipino travelers will have a worry-free trip during the upcoming "undas" holidays from 28 October to 01 November 2011.  Through the Free Safety Checks offered at participating Petron stations in major highways, those planning road-trips during the long Halloween weekend can prepare for the trip by ensuring that their vehicles are in roadworthy condition.

The extensive Free Safety Check routine covers 38 inspection points, including: (a) TIRES—tire pressure, tire wear, and spare tire; (b) ENGINE—air filter element, fan belt, power steering belt, alternator belt, air conditioner belt, upper and lower radiator hose; (c) FLUIDS—engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, clutch fluid, gear oil, power steering fluid, radiator coolant, and window washer; (d) BATTERY—battery fluid and battery terminals; (e) LIGHTS—headlights, signal lights, brake lights, hazard, fog lights, third brake light and light gauges; (f) UNDERCHASSIS—tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints, cross joints, shock absorbers and axle boots; and (g) ACCESSORIES—wiper blades, horn, basic tools, jack and early warning device. Just look for the Free Safety Check sign to avail of this service.
Free Safety Motorcycle check-ups will be offered at Petron stations in Libis, Marquinton (Marikina), Sucat, La Loma, and Makati.  There will be also be a doctor and nurse on duty at these stations to offer free medical assistance.  Free towing of Class 1 vehicles will be available at the South Luzon Expressway, while free medical assistance with an ambulance, doctor and nurse will be on call at Petron stations in NLEX Marilao, NLEX Balagtas, NLEX Lakeshore, SLEX San Pedro, Star Toll Batangas, Subic and Tagaytay.  These activities are being undertaken in partnership with the Motorcycle Development Participants Program Association (MDPPA) and Chevrolet Philippines.
Motorists who gas up at participating stations in North and South Luzon, Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao are also in for a special treat with the Free Coffee promo.  Every P500 single or accumulated receipt purchase of Petron Xtra, XCS, Blaze, Diesel Max and Turbo Diesel entitles the customer to a free SanMig Coffee sachet.  This Free Coffee promo will run from 28 October to 3 November 2011, and will be available at Petron service stations displaying the Free Coffee signages.

MOVIEMOV Italian Cinema Now 2011 Schedule



Last month I got a chance to watched two of Spanish movies included in the Spanish Film Festival and three from Korean Film Festival. Me and my husband engage to watch at least two from movie festivals held every year because through this, we could have a chance to know the country's culture and the way they make a movie. Next month there is another country which will be presenting their most awarded movies - Italy.


In the past years, the Embassy of Italy to the Philippines has been organizing wonderful  film festivals and it was so successful because it has been well attended and love by Filipino and foreign audiences alike. Now they will be doing it again from November 9-13 at Greenbelt Cinema entitled "Moviemov: Italian Cinema Now". The press launch of the said festival happened last Wednesday at Manila Peninsula, Makati. Italian VIP's and Filipino directors were also present to welcome the movie festival.


Moviemov: Italian Cinema Now films is absolutely free because the organizers hope that it will become a perpetual cultural event for audiences of so ancient and sophisticated artistic traditions and able to meet the offer of a new generation of writers, actors and producers who bode well for the renewal of Italian cinema.

Sarap at Home with Friends with San Marino



Media and bloggers had a firsthand experience of Sarap at Home and San Marino as they kickstart their 4th season last Tuesday at Discovery Suites. An afternoon of food, fun and surprises that we really enjoyed. The whole crew of the show was present such as Sam Oh, Jackie Rice, Fabio Ide and Ramon Baustista and they even create a salad together with San Marino products.


The show basically intertwined their lives of the crew as Sam falls for her gorgeous neighbor Fabio, who has a crush on her pretty probinsyana cousing Jackie, while Ramon is in love with Sam. Better stay tuned everyday with them to make sure what will happen in the end hehe.. The gang was so hilarious specially Ramon who always telling Fabio about tagalog words which is so hard to pronounced during the event hehe.. 


We also taste the different products of CDO's San Marino like the corned tuna, chili corned tuna,paella and their newest innovation the embutido. Support Virlanie Foundation's "Rice Up! for Street Children"



Rice is the most essential staple food for the large part of the world's human population, especially here, in the Philippines. It is the most important grain which human nutrition and caloric intake, providing more than one fifth of the calories consumed worldwide.And man mostly children, needed nutrients for faster brain and body development. 


I've been to Virlenie Foundation last Monday for the press launch of their project entitled "Rice Up! for Street Children". This project aims to  collect pledges to accommodate its monthly needs of 50 sacks of rice per month for its homes and outreach programs in slums communities. A way to ensure that children are learning despite their economic and social circumstances is ti mitigate their hunger.


Moreover, the event also presented Tim Yap as Virlanie Foundation's new Ambassador of Goodwill. Since 2008, Tim Yap has always making time for foundations events and campaigns but never had a chance to formalized his relationship with Virlanie not until that day. 


After the program we had a chance to visit one of Virlanie Foundation's home for the children ages 5-8. The children also prepared a special dance number for us and they really do dance well. They were so enthusiast to welcome us, and we even hold their hands and carried them. We also met the volunteers who help them every step of the way.

"Flying Forward" with Feiyue

Breathe Again Album by Jed Madela



The 2005 World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) grand winner Jed Madela and a multi-awarded singer who has sold thousand of records reviving some of the most memorable ballads in his previous album. Now prepared something new for all of us, as he set to fulfill his promise of recording new songs,now in his seventh album "Breathe Again"


The press asked him all about this album at the press launch held last October 13 and he proudly presented that the set of songs in this album will speak about different facets of love-its ups and downs, joys and pains. Someone asked him to describe some outstanding tracks in the album, he describes "Larawan" as something vocally-challenging, while "Ikaw Na Lang Ang Kulang" as a stirring ballad.


The album also played as the press taking their lunch and I found two songs that are upbeat like "I Have You Here" and "We're Having A Party". I like how the album organize from being in love, on love, out of love and accepting it. And he even serenade us with his beautiful and powerful voice, I even had teary-eyed when his singing hayz!!


He also announced that he will be having a special concert at the Cultural Center of the Philippines with Ballet Manila on the 26th of November entitled "Beyond Expectations" with his guests Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera. I'm sure this concert will be the best,in fact me and my husband planning to watch this particular concert yeay..
