Why having Egg Hunting on Easter Sunday??
Eggs:
Easter egg or spring egg are special egg because it is a symbol of rebirth of the earth and for Christians the resurrection of our saviour Jesus.Like chicken by breaking out of the shell to start real life same thing as for the Roman Catholic breaking out to a new world with hope, joy and life.
Some Origins:
-Traditionally, Orthodox Easter eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Christ shed onto the Cross, and the hard shell of the eggs symbolized the sealed tomb of Christ the cracking of which symbolized his resurrection from the dead.
-a Pious Legend also explains that Mary Magdalene was bringing cooked eggs to share with the other women at the tomb of Jesus, and the eggs in her basket miraculously turned brilliant red when she saw the risen Christ.
Egg Hunting:
To make it more fun on celebrating the resurrection specially in children the egg are hidden in different places for children to find them in the morning of Easter Sunday and put it in a basket. the more the merrier.
Happy Easter Everyone!!!
